Raspy/Distortion VST

Anyone know any good VST's for making audio more "raspy" (for lack of a better word)? I'm working on a track right now and it sounds pretty good, but all the bass tracks sound a bit too smooth. I've added some distortion, of course, but it's still not exactly what I'm looking for. The synth i'm using for it is pretty basic, so it can't accomplish this by iteslf like I've been able to with others.

Thanks guys!

I'll give that one a try. I've heard great things about it but haven't tried it for myself yet. Thanks echosystem.

CamelPhat rules, for sure. Also, Massive from Native Instruments is geared more towards the "nasty" side of synthesized sound, but be prepared for a hefty CPU cycle cost with that VSTi. :)

+1 on Camelphat, also you might wanna try some phase distortion, can sometimes give great resluts with just a little tuning.

Something I've been playing around alot with is amp simulators... Maybe give freeamp a go!

After messing around with the camel phat VST for about a day now, I can confidently say that it is almost better than sex......almost.
