I wanted to know if i can use serato with a cdj and a turntable...ie the cdj as source 1 and turntable as source 2.
The reason being is that I have a cdj-800, a cdj-100 and two technics 1200's (one of which is completely on the verge of death) and carrying cd's and records and all this equipment is becoming tedious. As such, I plan on buying serato so i don't need to carry anything but a my turntable and cdj-800.That way i can play cd's and records for when i want to pull out something that i don't have on my harddrive. But will this set-up work and be compatible with serato?
Sorry, I did not know what to search for this question and it does seem sorta ambiguous and strange... |

yup, just use a control CD on the CDJ and a control vinyl on the 1200. |

| i think there's even a way to use just one 1200 with Serato, using the deck flip option. I'm pretty sure I've heard this done as an emergency should a turntable die mid set. Check the forums at http://www.scratchlive.net/ for more info. |

To control Serato, you can only use one source... Either CD's or Turntables. However, with either source, you can bypass Serato. For instance, if you're using CDJ's, and someone hands you over a CD to play, you can play that CD just like if Serato wasn't there. You can do the same with turntables.
However, you CAN NOT use one turntable and one CDJ to control Serato at the same time. This is due to a preference you have to set on Serato. |

I guess I was wrong... I don't have it yet, but am ordering my Serato tomorrow or Friday! :D
Is this the same Woody that's friends with Fei Fei? She told me you told her about that thing I told you about. She was confused at first, but thought it was funny! :D :D :D |

You can do this on Torq from M-Audio fyi. You can set Deck A and B to any combo you want. You can also use what they call "Amputate Mode" and use one cdj or TT in external mode and then the other deck on the Torq software. |

| no, but maybe serato can have a phono/line option on each deck in the future ;) |

it you can actually use it tho
just set your input to phono and use 1 deck + 1cdj
the cd tracking will be in the reds, but it sttilll will work perfectly fine |
