my friend told me it was the movie of the century, i told him to sit on a coney island wiener, no movie is worth making a statement that ignorant. I want to go see it though, I was never a transformer type of kid, I was more into the ninja turtle scene......cowabunga!!!!

Well let me enlighten you. I'm going to see it with said girl in a few hours and my ski boat is now ready for use.

We should go out on the lake so I can slit open your belly, fill your carcass with concrete, wrap you in chains from head to toe, and drop your ass 150 ft under water by the damn.

The movie theme song is just the cartoons theme remixed by Oakenfold i heard.Seriously.That was the main reason i wanted to see it just for the song. But should be good also.Speilberg had something to do with it so heck yes it has to be good.

Michael Bay can go fuck himself. He didn't do the original series justice except for when it came to the special effects. The entire movie was one long advertisement; so many scenes were designed around product placement it was ridiculous. The plot was completely sub-par for an 'epic' film, perhaps because the movie was designed for 13 year olds who weren't even born when the transformers were actually on TV 20 years ago. That fact influenced the humour (which was cheesier than most Disney films), the dialogue (diluted to the extent that you don't require a gram of intelligence to comprehend what was happening), and the cinematography (violent action scenes where people die horrible deaths, but there's no blood in sight - it felt plastic). The CGI was incredible in some parts, but once again Bay is a dumbass and he had to shoot pretty much every potentially impressive scene of a transformer transforming so close-up that it wasn't elegant, it was chaotic. Oh, and does anyone remember that in the original series, there were only ever two human characters? Die Michael Bay you pop-culture-feeding cash-grabbing fuckwit.

I wouldn't call it epic, but the movie exceeded expectations where a few things were concerned. Then again...my expectations weren't particularly high. The hokey parts were to be expected as it was supposed to be suitable for kids as well. Overall, I enjoyed it and do recommend it.

The initial attack at Qatar was probably my favorite.

There was a particular trailer before the movie that caught my attention:

now my question is...what the HELL is this one going to be about? :eyes: Looks promising, but so did Godzilla before it came out. We shall see.

"Apocalypse Now" by Coppola = epic move

"Transformers" by Michael Bay = not so epic movie...

"Dave and Dirk" by Cee and Lizandro = TERRIBLE.

Terrible adaptation, did zero justice to the 'toon. Effects eye-candy almost worth it, though. I won't see it twice in a theater, but I'd rent it from time to time just to see the US Air Force shoot the hell out of the scorpion Decepticon.

I know why Ebert & Ropert gave it two thumbs down. Your mom took the role of Dirk. :wtf:
