Maximus, "Are you not entertained?, are you not entertained"
I agree w/ you on the product placement advertisements throughout the movie sucked but it did not entirely kill the movie. However I went to watch the movie without high expectations. I grew up watching transformers and other 80's cartoons and was disappointed when they changed all the cars to GMC automobiles. Despite the fact that I dislike American cars and they changed Optimus prime in the end I was entertained.
I hear they are going to create sequels which I know will be crap, simply because that's the trend nowadays.

Michael Bay can go fuck himself. He didn't do the original series justice except for when it came to the special effects. The entire movie was one long advertisement; so many scenes were designed around product placement it was ridiculous. The plot was completely sub-par for an 'epic' film, perhaps because the movie was designed for 13 year olds who weren't even born when the transformers were actually on TV 20 years ago. That fact influenced the humour (which was cheesier than most Disney films), the dialogue (diluted to the extent that you don't require a gram of intelligence to comprehend what was happening), and the cinematography (violent action scenes where people die horrible deaths, but there's no blood in sight - it felt plastic). The CGI was incredible in some parts, but once again Bay is a dumbass and he had to shoot pretty much every potentially impressive scene of a transformer transforming so close-up that it wasn't elegant, it was chaotic. Oh, and does anyone remember that in the original series, there were only ever two human characters? Die Michael Bay you pop-culture-feeding cash-grabbing fuckwit. |
