Since temperatures have been measured, state high temperatures were reached pre-1940, coincidentally this was also a time which sunspot activity was at a minimum. Sunspot activity right now is at a decrease... think its a coincidence that temperatures are going up? |

i saw that video also (the great global warming swindle).
i'm not saying that the sun spot theory isn't valid as im not a scientist. But i do think you have to view that theory with as much skepticism as you view al gore. everyone has their motivations for doing things.
At the end of the day i chose to follow the greener path, not because al gore tells me to, but because there are so many other benefits (cleaner air, energy independence, the middle east, new industry = new jobs, etc...) If we do nothing, but it turns out gore is right, the potential consequences are much worse than just being precaution now. |

Youre misjudging me, I definitely agree with going with a greener path (I dont think theres a single person on the planet that wouldnt), but I think the way that they are going about it is just obsurd. They are force feeding it down peoples throats, the majority of these people being weak minded and unable to think for themselves. Im sure I can make the assumption that more than 3/4 of the people at the concerts have no idea what greenhouse gases are and how they affect the ozone. |

Oh....to me it appeared that your mind was made up that global warming was caused by sun spots. Either way, we are in agreement that is stupid and won't do anything to solve the issue. |

Hell no, theres probably millions of factors that affect global warming, and we could be one of them, along with all the universal changes in space... Im sick of people trying to point fingers at someone else. STFU and do something that will actually get energy conservation to happen. This is an issue that goes far beyond our government, this is something involves the world as a whole, all the governments around the planet need to pool their information, scientists should work together, funding should be global based, not individually based. |

well said....but i do think that action by the united states would go a long way in starting that process. For example, Australia held out of Kyoto mostly because the US did so. |

I think its pretty sad that everything in the world depends on the US. Other countries need to take the initiative to make the US get with the program. If theres one thing the US government hates, its to be lower than and behind other countries in ANYTHING, especially technology. Were stuck in a war, fighting for land that in 10-15 years will become hardly used by anyone but the US. Im a conservative, but I have thoughts (something frowned upon deeply by other people of the same political class). |

Im with vlad on this our planet is known for dramatic climate shifts in the span of its lifetime. We as a species have been fortunate enough to witness a time with a relatively stagnant climate.
Global warming is just a catch phrase over the past 10 years. Now im not saying that humans havent caused some of it in part as im sure we have. But I believe there are other factors as well. |

| Regarding the concert, hearing The Smashing Pumpkins sound like a bad cover of the 90s band made me want to cry. I've just watched Billy and the backing bad destroy Bullet with Butterfly Wings and Today. |

I was cringing when Kanye West came out during Message In a Bottle. |
