Great night!

Steve i thought your set was really good..again. Twice in a week mate! Crowd definately loved Missing,Heaven Scent and More than Anything. I dont know if you kept a tracklist or anything because there were a few tracks i would like to know. Played at 12.10, 12.50 and 1:05...I should've taken videos of them but was saving energy.

PvD was Awesome!
My favoourites were Needs to Feel,Crush,For An Angel, Constellation, Love all the pain away, Feels like home, Satelite, Solaris/Atlantis city...in fact the whole thing. Bit over Anthem but its a crowd pleaser.

dude, i ran into you last night and you mentioned that i played a great set then you throw this on a forum... nice work man.

But thats your opinion, second of all Agent 86 cancelled his gig and i had to take his shift, which caught me off gaurd since i only brought the tracks i was going to play from 11:15 - 12:30 - so as a result some of the stuff i was going to play in the first hour i had to re program to a 2 and half hour warm up set and i was told to keep the bpm level alittle low, anyways thats somethem else.
3rdly - id be the first to admit if my mixing was dodgy, but i know for a fact my mixing was very smooth last night, maybe went out one or two tracks for like 2 bars then quickly corrected, maybe it was the bad sound system or maybe it was where u positioned yourself in the club.

anywys thanks heaps to guys that came to see me play, the reaction from 'heavens scent' and 'more then anything' will stick in my mind forever :D

Hey Steve, we have a had a few interesting chats in the past on these forums :-) I thought your set was great last night. The sound in metro is crap unless u are on the dancefloor its nearly impossible to hear a bad/good mix from anywhere other than the dance floor unless its a trainwreck. Your timing with Heaven Scent could not have been better, when i heard it kicking in I was wrapped and knew the crowd was going to go bonkers. Tristate was awesome too, and some of those chunky progy/techy tracks u were playing at the start (i Think?). Great effort on extended the set too, a nice suprise for u I am sure. Got a set list??

Anways.. My takes on the night.

Highlights:
- PVD's mixing, tune mods and tricks. The man is a genious. Very unique. Bit lost for words when talking about this guy. Is it Serrato on one mac to load the tunes on the CDj's and then Ableton on the other to do all the tricks? Or did he even use the CDj's. I couldnt see properly, ahh who cares the man has truely mastered his craft. He is a true and entertainer and knows how to the hit the spot at the right time. I think maybe he 'over used' the HP/LP filter build up effect in his tunes and the built up 'constellation' sample. But anyways thats personal taste :-)
- Attendance, still packed, wasnt as packed as last year when u could not move. So you could move a little bit.
- The lovely elegant lady who climbed up on the stage during pvd and I think when Trent was playing. Not such an elegant climb up on to the stage to say the least. Certainly made me all the blokes happy in the front row seeing an exposed munted beaver spread out all over the stage (twice). No offense to her if she reads this, it was all good ;-)

Low lights:
- Crowd was interesting mix. Not as many hot chicks as there were last year. Good to see more of the older crowd coming out to see pvd. Makes me feel a little younger. :-)
- Sound. Still not big fan of the setup of metro. As I stated above.
- Length of time to get a drink before PVD started.
- The swimming pool containing; piss, spew, drugs, poo and got knows what else in the front entry mens toilets. Feel sorry for the poor bloke with the plunger trying to unclog it. Eww.

PVD is the Bomb! Nothing more to say
Mike Nichol INSANE what else would he be
Steve Strangis Loved his set
Fpcookie
stevie i thought u played a sick set. perfect warm up set imo! heaven scent was the bomb! awesome crowd reaction

pvd... phwor what can you say about him. he is just the absolute god. i was continuously in awe of him and what he was doin with the music, just unbelievable. the way that he would edit all the tracks to perfection to fit in with eachother, his live k/b playing, his mixing, everything was just supreme.

the crowd i thought were really good... never really seen bigger reactions to big tracks at any other event

HORO, i was hanging for 1998 as well :p oh well cant get it all!

top night. crowd was awesome in terms of reactions, way better than gods reminded me a lot of sasha&digweed last year. pvd is incredible. absolute magician behind the decks. bring on the sunrise set at kryal.

That set from pvd was absolutely mental. Seen him a few times before, and this was easily the best.

That whole live keyboard element thing he had going took that set to another level.

I won't be forgetting that one for a long time.

Props to Hardware for bringing the man out....Kryal sunrise set is going to be incredible me thinks (hoping for a lot of his old skool material).

Unbelievable...

loved the venue, i'm a backpacker staying in melbourne for 4 months (been her 2 months) I've never been to the met before but it was perfect for the size of the crowd.

As someone said earlier on in the thread, when you stood in the middle of the dancefloor the sound was awesome! His set.... i was speechless. Right from the start he just went for it. His Set from cream amnesia in 2003 was one of my personal favourites and this reminded me slightly of it. Banging... all the way. I had gone off trance a wee bit but this set has brought it all back.

Couldn't believe how fast the 3 hours went by. I have about 18min of video from my camera, will see if i can upload it. Dunno what the quality is like either, we'll see.

Anyway, highlight of my trip so far. And i've been to a good few festivals, including Erick Morillo's 11 hour set at Home in sydney. This was far far better, and he only played for 3 hours.

Such a memorable night..

Not sure if i should go see him again in sydney, my visa runs out 2 days after the gig so i'm tempted. Just not sure if it'll be a waste as he might play a similar set and the venue isn't really that intimate. Think he's playing at the show grounds?

anywho, awesome, simply awesome.

nelly

PS. Does anyone know if this set was recorded? It would be amazing if it was :)
