hey guys i just got vengeance clubs sounds 1 and 2. i was listening to some of the loops, and wondering if i used them if it would be cheating or not. i have always done all my own drums and percusion before, but some of these loops sound pretty cool.
what do you guys do?, cuz i swaer i have heard some of these loops in other released tracks before.
thanks for the input |

If it makes noise, it's fair game for use in an electronic music track. Just keep in mind that most people, when they choose to use a loop, will stick it into a sampler and/or mess with it quite a bit. You still often hear the Amen break in dance music, but not in its identical form to the original recording. If it's a pure copy-and-paste job, it's liable to get boring fast.
Then again, anything looped over and over again gets boring after a while. Copying and pasting a MIDI drumloop 200 times isn't any better. In my observation, though, this tendency figures more prominently among the loopers than the arrangers. |

| most artists do it, try to cut them in pieces and re organise to avoid getting repetitive |

I'm a big fan of a background loop for groove. Hp & lp filtered, distorted and mangled to sit behind my drums. Definately adds something that straight midi often lacks.
That's me though.
If you want to use an upfront loop, do it. But has been said before, don't let it get boring... |

yeah i just want to use like 1 loop that plays out underneith the track like a 1 or 2 measure hihat with some bongos, snares, and other weird sounds. like what you usually hear at the begining of a track some type of loop with the bass kick then you build your own percusion over it. does that make any sense haha. i like the loops cuz they sound super cool when you filter them for a fill effect or whatever.
ok so im sold loops it is. i always thought it was kinda frowned upon , but i guess not.
thanks guys !!! |

listen to vengeance essential house, then listen to any Chris Lake song.
it's fine. :p
though for your own moral reasons you, like me, might like to try and keep them subtle. |

| For me it's more fun to make my own drumloops. If i use a loop in a track I cant stop thinking of it, it feels like its not my track. But thats me.. It's very booring tough when you recognise a loop in a track, so if you use it, try to edit them as much as possible. |

As long as it's the gravy and not the whole meat.
(Why do I get the feeling I've said this before...) |

| Chop the loop to 16ths re-organize it to fit your main percussion better, voilá its a new loop and there aint no cheating anymore...so whats the problem? if it sounds good use it...if it doesnt it, maybe the result will be better then :p |

| I've got no problems with it. Can often fill out a track nicely, yet not be too noticable. |

| lowski I have that dilemma from time to time. I havent used loops yet but probably will one day, some good advice here about changing the sound or chopping up the loops so best bet would be that then you can feel better for it being you track using the latter more so. |
