I've been all over E3 coverage (legitimate and blog based) and haven't seen or heard anything to that effect.
Take it with a grain of salt until you can confirm it.
Edit: Also, I'll just go ahead and say what I'm sure all of you already know - a console "exclusive" like MGS4 (i.e. one that's cost millions to make) is really probably only going to remain "exclusive" for about a year, tops.
I'll wait it out if I have to. :) |

No, actually, the wording has been debated all over the place, because they said something like "it'll be the only place you can play it next year, when it comes out" or something vague like that. They didn't specifically say that it would be an exclusive past the time of release. |

i really the fact that they missed Christmas 2007 doesn't mean their TITLE OF TITLES to revitalize such a software impotent system is being set for release for Christmas 2008
(which in turn, would give a short term of exclusivity if ^ is correct about the select choice of words) |

Not to mention, during the sony press conference, they introduced the makers of the game calling it exclusive. |

nobody's claiming it's coming out any time soon, if at all. All that's been mentioned so far is the fact that their wording @ e3 was strange, to say the least, as it wasn't absolute in stating that 'THIS WILL NEVER BE ON ANOTHER CONSOLE.' It didn't sound like it was going to be out on 360--more like they either just failed to write the speech well enough, or that they were still in negotiations to keep it permanently exclusive (as opposed to having a release on 360 somewhere way down the line, as GTA did a few years ago), so they couldn't say anything yet. |

This isnt proof here, but this is the site I read that gave me the indication that MGS4 is a PS3 exclusive.

I dunno if that serves as 'proof', plus from the sound of things, you've probably already read that site anyway :)
Also, your point on 3rd party exclusives not staying exclusive for more than a year...I agree, but what gives with all these 360 exclusives NOT coming to PS3? Where is a PS3 Gears of War or PS3 Dead Rising? I'm not chapping you here, but rather bringing up the point that the PS3 isnt getting some of these games that were in fact developed by 3rd parties. Why not expand the audience?
The same could happen here with MGS4. It'll depend entirely on how it sells. |
