There's actually a pizzaria war (between customers) with Grimaldi's and DaFarros.
If you check out reviews, youll see people praising one and bashing the other all the time. |

Once upon a time fella... Papa Leone's is your average pizzaria, its good, nothing to rave about anymore.
Delmar's in Sheepshead I think is better now.
But Grimaldi's will forever be the greatest pizzaria in NYC. |

"Better" according to whom?
Really, this kind of culinary elitism is an utterly nonsensical social product. "The best" is simply what a cultural elite claims to be their favourite, and those who want to be seen as part of that elite act accordingly. Pierre Bourdieu even exposed empirical data that could be used to better understand this phenomenon.
One brief example: Wine is seen in our culture as a "high" drink, sophisticated and chic, and you can even find articles on wine tasting. Coca-cola, on the other hand, is just a mass product.
Personally, no matter how many different kinds of wine I'm offered, I've never ever found one wine I like more than my good old Coke... as I really can't see much value in fermented grape juice anyway :p |

Just done it.
1) He said he liked Domino's Pizza;
2) You said he didn't know what good pizza was;
3) I said taste was in the tongue of the beholder;
4) You said that if he ate excrement during his entire life, he might not know there is better stuff out there;
5) I once again pointed out that better or good don't make sense as universals. So the better stuff might not be better to him. |
