so who's going and what is the event?

preferably something where we can actually mingle as opposed to some co-ray-zee event where half the people will split up into their respective cliques to start begin with.....:wtf:

Let's see what Chris can do for a place. I'm guessing one Saturday is as good as another, although do we not want to do it on a day when a liquified event is happening? Then again, maybe we want to do it on the same day and ppl can head there later in the evening and continue to party together. Thoughts?

Once we nail down a place and day/time, we can try to get an rsvp list to get an idea of attendance. I definitely want ppl to get to know each other and the lounge atmosphere will be good for that.

If we do a Saturday event, what time do you think we should do it? If we do it in the afternoon, we can probably get a venue for ourselves before it opens for the dinner/late-night crowd. That would make it better for mingling with other TA's.

Thoughts?

I remember back a few years ago when we'd have HUGE Ta extravaganza's. Cook out's, pool parties, random co-ray-zeeness. It was all very fun. I remember one bbq having like 30 TA's or something. All coming from the entire SouthEast.

Ah, the good ol' days. :toocool:

:wtf:

i remember flying in from oklahoma on two seperate occoasions for these parties... :D

I never not have a good time when I come up to the Atl...

I think that is a very good idea. That way no issues w/ "who's a TA here?" Thumbs up for sat/pre-dinner.

So, you gonna spin, Chris? How we working that out? lol

As soon as I secure the location, time and date, what I would like to do is have TA's sign up to DJ to spin during different time slots. I figure that if we get a venue for like 4 hours, we can do half-hour slots, which will allow up to 8 people to strut their stuff. I would actually encourage n00bs who have never DJ'ed outside the bedroom to try their hand at it. It would be a good experience for them to play before a live audience that's a group of friends there to support them. There will probably be a ton of train wrecks, but it will provide them with a good learning experience, and that's what communities like this are for IMO. :)

DJChrisB: I really like that idea of the 4-hour show. You know I'll want to spin. I gotta have a little House thrown in...

Eric: Let me know what you need help with (I've done some promoting in NC). Have you considered using MySpace to set up some events? I can help you in that regard, and its really easy to post events and such on there.

He gets crunk with the best of them, but never gets the message of God mixed up....only mixed in. Or.. he can keep it real traditional if need be.
