He was really good for the first half, but IMO he was boring for the rest of his set so I went to see Hai Lee who was laying down some real bangers.
Highlight of the night: Watching about 8-9 crackheads gathered on a couch in the first room getting a light show. It was actually quite beautiful. |

Khal & I & our entourage got there around 11... Rebel is an AWESOME venue, that main room is just rediculous, from size, to sound, to high ceilings... reminds me exactly of Transit in Philadelphia...
Zack and Keryn were just destroying it, its like they knew exactly what tracks would own that sound system in there... definitly could of listened to those 2 for an extra 3 or 4 hours straight, easy...
Onto the other room for a bit to listen to Mike and Frank play... those 2 never dissapoint... sick tech sounding tracks throughout the whole set, Frank even slipped in one of his productions, awesome to see the whole crowd jammin to his track, nice job :)
Khal and I had so much fun playing after that in the same room, i played a more progressive set to set up Khal, there were alot of tracks i hadn't played in Philly that i thought would go perfect at Rebel, and it didn't dissapoint, then Khal came on for the last 45 minutes and played a SICK house, prog, electro set... had to crowd going nuts which was awesome :D
Throughout the night i was in and out of the main room listening to Matthew Dekay's set, although a bit too loud, he was still awesome... sick tracks and unreleased stuff he did... banger after banger... so down to earth also... definitly wouldn't mind having him in Philly sometime soon!
And to end the night, it was my first time listening to hai lee... SO SICK! Great set bro, progressive and trance bangers all the way through, had a thick crowd showing up for him also, this guy didn't dissapoint one bit!
All in all i always love coming to NYC, especially for CORE events.. i know i'm gonna be around the best people, and best music...

What a great after party! Rebel is nice but really really hot!!!! Dekay was ok...dropped some good tracks. Moo, you were awesome!!! I got sick and had to leave beofer Hai Lee but, Kamil said you had the best set of the night.

| Great sets all around. Dekay was nasty of course. Moo definitely ripped it, as did Khal, and of course I have love for all of my fellow Core DJ's. I gotta say, my track sounded better in my room than in a club, but it was definitely nice that nobody stopped dancing when I thew it on...haha. Looking forward to the next one! |

Well golly that was fun. I must confess that I was socializing so much, I didn't pay enough attention to Matthew, and I feel bad about it. I can't really judge him well. He did sign my flyer and was ever so gracious about it. Had a ton of fun with Sameer, Mikey, Tom, Dan, Erica, KAYLA! (so good to see you), Kitten, Gabe, sorry about whoever my old brain has forgotten.
My socializing notwithstanding, Zack and Keryn were fantastic. At one point the music is so good that I stopped talking to you TA fools and am thinking Matthew is ROCKING it and I look up and it's Zack. NICE.
Rebel is great, hoping for more and more events there. |

Went to Rebel expecting to be there 1 or 2 hours but ended up staying until 4:30 :eyes:. Mike and Frank played a :eyes: set in the front room and Keryn & Zach were just ridiculous. MDK came out and was killing it to begin with but after a while the sound got too much for me and his set started to drag a bit plus Armin earlier wore me out. I had to go to the back and waited for Hai Lee to get behind the decks in the front room. IMO Hai Lee's set was :crazy: :eyespop: :crazy: loved it! Definitely a good night all around.
Good seeing everyone as usual. |
