There are a lot of bars in that area, but they usually don't open till 10pm. The guest lists for Vangaurd and Avalon close at 11pm, so you wouldn't have time to go to a bar, unless you're willing to pay full price to get in.

But there are a lot of nice resturaunts around there that you can go eat dinner and have a couple drinks.

Do you know what hotel you guys are staying in yet??

on the sat/sun: no. we were holding back booking anywhere because we weren't sure on the LA vs SD argument. we're staying at some bargain motel on the fri night at around 7000-odd w. sunset blvd.

obviously now we'll look at booking places, but there's also the issue that we reckon it will be hell cheaper if we turn up and find a hotel while we're out there....the cheapest hotels we can find on the net, ie going through an agent, are £60 (ie $120)..!!! okay, i've never been before, but surely we could pay half that just showin up somewhere.

is sunset blvd a reasonable location? (for the sights and sounds of LA in general and the clubs?) i have no idea. the city looks the size of england.

I think it would be wayyy cheaper if you book it in advanced, since it's a holiday weekend. If you just show up, the prices might be higher or there might not even be any rooms available!

Hotels/motels on Sunset Blvd. are the best location since it's close to everything, but I also think they are the most expensive. Try looking on www.hotels.com or www.motels.com

I've never stayed at a hotel in LA, since I live in Hollywood and i'm 2 minutes away from everything, but try those websites and see what you can find near Hollywood. Hopefully you can find some good deals!

LMFAOOOOOO!!! I think he meant drinking in your car, which everyone does in the parking lot before going to a club. Drinks are expensive as hell in LA. Average is like $11 for one drink. Might as well buy a bottle of vodka and drink in your car.

Well, keep us posted about what hotel/motel you are staying in! :p
Farma_UK
yeah thanks, i got it just a few seconds before typing "Toyota Tacoma" into google.....

"...WAIT A GODDAMN MINUTE!!!"

hahaha :D

will do.
