Sander is MY DJ! OK!?!?!?
Thank goodness Taj brought him to the US last June. Sander's first trip ever to the US. I instantly had a new favorite DJ and that stance hasn't chance. I will never forget the magic in the air that night. The music, the vibe. So refreshing.
Not my fav DJ of all time (he has to prove himself over years), but def my favorite at the moment.
The last time I went gaga over a DJ who blew me away right of the bat was Markus in like 2002. Or maybe it was early 2003. I talked so much about him then (and few listened) and I am probably talking more about Sander now. I still remember how right in front of SvD I texted the head of Spundae calling him the future. And damn, SvD has only proven me right so far. His sound is just so refreshing. His own style which no one else has really attempted to copy. And that's what makes him stand out in my eyes and even a lot of other DJs eyes (you look around at interviews from some of the most respect DJs & producers and when they talk about a person bring a fresh sound, SvD is just about always mentioned). So many people try to copy the styles of like AvB and PvD...and even Markus, and overall the scene is flooded with that sound. But when it comes to SvD, people haven't been able to copy his style too well. It kinda reminds me of the Tiesto of old when people would play a lot of the same tracks, but the energy and the style it was brought it just could never be duplicated. It's unique and jesus do I love it!
Can't wait to see him on Friday night here in SF. I hope he puts a stamp on the crowd so he's booked here a few times a year at the very least. :) |

have yet to see him play, but his productions have changed alot over the past several years. I played alot of his stuff when i was still playing alot of trance and he was releasing under purple haze and all his other cool names. That was when i was loving his sound
but recently his stuff sounds quite differnet, im gonna miss him this weekend again though |
