Its a little over a month away, and I know a LOT of nyta's talked about going up (as usual!!). I go every year to visit my old friends, and to partake in the festivities: the block party, labour day weekend festivities, boat cruises, after parties, and the event at Guvernment itself.
I am gonne keep this thread updated as the lineup is posted (its posted sporadically throughout the next month).
There are TONS of artists at each event, and MANY types of genres (trance, house, techno, jungle, dnb, breaks, etc).
I will keep the updates on the block party as well (pending nat and graham get their behinds back to canada!!) Any plans, rides, hotels, transportation, roll call, etc, can also be talked about here.
always a great party, and def something one ought to check out at least once, if not just to check out an all-access party in one of the best clubs ever!! :D :D :happy2: :happy2: |

if you're going to rent a car in toronto look to fly into buffalo. it is a load cheaper than toronto, anywhere from 100-200 cheaper. |

| If only I had people I knew to go around this time it would work. I'll be skipping it this year :) |

if only the event didnt get so (over)crowded, so unbearable until the last few sets, it makes me wish it was an OUTDOOR event
BUT YES, *always* a great time. if u never been, the EVENT is a MUST-GO, gone 3 out of 4 years since 2003. :toothless and especially the VENUE is a MUST-GO. When I think about it, it tugs at my heartstrings :tongue2 it is the ONLY venue in Toronto in which I've gone to party at, and nothing/no one can convince me that the other venues are BETTER (even if they truly are.)
im SURE there will be madd recaps/reminescing of past years in thie thread, in particular *2006* *and* ESPECIALLY *2004*'s NYTA-DCTA meetup
I hope to see NEW djs in the lineup besides Armin & SVD (3rd yr at LOL for him consecutively, SVD will be here again soon) then it will be more worth it.
the BLOCK party is DEF worth going up for in its own right, great place to meet your very neighbourly TOTA's. very well organized last year and I trust it will be just as awesome this year. :tongue2
great city, great people also. i remember walking around town last yr with the krew, it was f*ckin great |

tru tru...its def cuts down on the 8-9 hr drive. Flight/hotel packages shouldn't run too much $. last yr i found packages for $450 for the 3 day weekend
then again those NYC <-> Toronto road trips have DEFINITELY spawned a lot of stories and bonded MANY NYTA friendships/histories, amongst ppl who were formerly strangers. and for that, I would not trade those experiences for ANYTHING.
and to TELL a dj that you traveled 9 hrs to see them, well their eyes just POP right outta their skull, haha. i remember Ferry's did. LOL
but yeah, fly for comfort and convenience

I love road trips, but, coming back to NY from Toronto is a B*tch!, specially when u're the driver.
last year i drove to Toronto early in the morning, got there in the afternoon, went to Guv in the evening, party till about 8:30am next day, drove back to NY, and went to work for an overnight LOL. |
