Thus why I wouldnt go, whoever he pays to do his productions now is horrible. Why would I pay whatever ridiculous amount of money it was to go see flashing lights and pyrotechnics?

When other DJs suck, the best of the worst become popular again. Since Tiesto has been overhyped for a few years now, he will always be the best of the worst.

Look at all the hype Armin got before the Pool gig? Everyone was on his jock... he plays a bad set, those same people go see Tiesto spin his usual bad set but with a bunch of flashing lights, now they are Tiesto fans.

Tiesto will ALWAYS be popular because he pays people alot of money to cover peoples ears by satisfying their eyes.

tiesto at hammerstein was amazing. hands down one of my best nights out ever. six-story tall visuals (the modern dance, semi-nude dancer visuals were crazy), pyrotechnics, fireworks (indoors! is that allowed?), confetti falling from the ceiling, a three thousand strong crowd rocking out - young, old, candy ravers, models, internationals, b&t, hipsters, whoever. i'm not too crazy about the elements album itself so i'm glad he mixed in those tracks with his old standards and some of my favorite house tracks (alright, swimming places, touch me). yes, he messed up a few times but whatevs... he's human, it happens to the best, and his enthusiasm and interaction with the audience made up for it.

tiesto went on the mic at the end of the night, thanked the crowd and said it was one of his favorite nights in NY in all the years he's played here. i was surprised he actually went down into the audience twice to shake hands. the man is a born performer and he knows how to work a crowd. i love my share of dirty, small club nights where it's all about the music and the DJ's technical skills, but a night like this one really blew those others out of the water and if i could, i would do it all over again.

I just said I was glad that peeps had fun and it was nice that Tiesto impressed!!!

Geez, maybe I should go back to just reading things and not posting anymore like I have been doing for the last year or so>:wtf: :wtf:

Now don't be silly :p I was not directing that at you anyway..just saying in general. It's nice to see you posting again tho ;)

All these comments are great but still not enough for me to go see him just yet. I am not a fan of his productions either so the concert type things wouldn't go over well with me, may be a club gig where he isn't whoring all of his own productions will do.

I don't post here too often but I was at Tiesto on Friday Night. Even thought his djing was not the best that night, the performance was awesome. This man is an entertainer. This was one of the best nights I have had since I started clubbing in 1998. The combination of venue, lights, effects, and music made it a great event. Also, the security wasn't too tight. They let people do their thing. I did not see any fights and the lines to get in were in order. Great job.

after all these great reviews... i was kinda confused when looking at the tracklist which is composed of nearly all his old productions. i was expecting a little more variety. kinda wish i caught the show though..
