D: Hello, how are you doing?
F: I’m doing great (with a boyish grin)
D: Well, my first question would be, how did you like NYC?
F: I liked NYC very much. The show went very well. It was a very upfront place; seeing the crowd go crazy was satisfying. The club was very happy. Hopefully, since I play regularly at GLOW in Washington on Saturdays, New York will be able to fit me in on Fridays.
D: Tell me about your new single, “Punk.”
F: Well, the track is not new. It came out in the beginning of summer 2001 in Ibiza. I have made some changes and brought it to the US for the release. I’m the only DJ playing it, because of course I made it. Also, an alias I used was Funkeinsatz and then we changed it to my own name. It has made a big impact Japan and worldwide. It’s in the top ten in Holland, Germany, and the UK.
D: Overhearing some talk, can you explain more about the start of Tsunami night in DC?
F: The night will be focused on all of my tracks that are on my own label Tsunami. I own the master rights in the world so its all my own creations. So that’s even better and I can do what I want. The atmosphere will be heavy trance and my partner; Kid Vicious will be playing with me. So its going to be all Tsunami tracks and System F.
D: I know that you have worked on tracks with other artists such as Tiesto and Armin, can we look forward to anything else like that, considering that they are also busy with their solo careers right now?
F: I don’t know. We are all very busy at the moment. Tijs is very busy as well, but I told him not to worry, that I will carry on “Gouryella”. I am coming out with a track called “Ligaya” which means “happiness” in Filipino. It should come out later this year. As for Armin, we are working on a track featuring System F. Look for that in the near future as well.
D: Looking back, does what you’re doing now go with your what your initial plan was 5 years ago?
F: My initial plan was to produce music and live off of that. After a year or so I started my own label. My music started hitting Top 20’s and Top 10’s and that was something I didn’t think was going to happen. So no, I didn’t think I would be as big as I am now.
D: How do you feel the Global Transmission Tour is doing so far?
F: (Smiles big) I didn’t expect to have such a great following in America. I thought I would be known more as a producer than a DJ. I am very pleased.
D: Touching base on your Ferry Corsten album coming up, what can we expect from you?
F: This is an album full of tracks that you would not expect, but will appreciate. I never plan on music. I let the music move me.
D: So are there going to be diverse tracks on it?
F: Yes.
D: Changing a little bit to a personal touch for the few minutes we have left. What’s your favorite food?
F: Hmmm, well when I ate Mediterranean food I said this was my favorite and then when I ate Asian food I said that was my favorite. I like to eat healthy and simple, so I would say they both are my favorite.
D: With an upcoming marriage in May, how do you tour, travel and plan for it? It must be a tight schedule.
F: Yes, it’s very hard but I try and help as much as I can. My girlfriend handles most of it. She’s great! But I try to do my best with my job, like the touring and the wedding.
D: Lastly, since you have to go in a few minutes. What advice do you give yourself as well as what you would tell aspiring DJs?
F: “Stick to what you believe in.”
D: Thank you for your time.
F: You're welcome and thank you.
this is going to kick ass. a new gouryella later this year. for those that keep saying gouryella is dead. you can now shut it. :D |

thanks for the info.
I knew that gouryella is producing a new track; however not Tiesto and Ferry together...so in my opinion, gouryella is not "gouryella" just with Ferry. |

Thanks for bringing the interview! So now we know:
-The name of the new Gouryella single...
-The style of the new album (Or at least we know we'd better expect the unexpected)
-The Tsunami night is gonna rock a lot

| yeah well technically, i agree, its not REAL gouryella but hey atleast ferry is keeping the name alive and keeping hope that one day tijs can put aside some time to get in the studio with ferry later in the future. this is so much better than them calling it over for good. |
