Nice to see so many young actors into the new *ahem* 'bar' scene.
Next, let's wait for Hayden Panettiere to be the next Lohan/Hilton.

I would go into some big rant here about the preferential treatment of celebrities etc., etc. but I actually feel sorry for her.
Get your together Lindsay! |
why feel sorry for her?
shes ugly, shes a alcoholic and a druggie, shes spoiled, shes a whore, shes got a nasty body, she has no talent, her acting and music sucks, shes annoying...
her, stick her in jail for a few years and lock the bitch away |

Ideally I would agree with most of your points, except for the fact that there are an equal amount of celebrities who have NOT had serial offences of drunk driving and possession of narcotics (11 days out of rehab no less).
I don't think it's fair to say Lindsay is 'forced' into the media. She seems to quite enjoy her place there (same for Paris Hilton). And people who seek the spotlight - it becomes an all or nothing experience. She can't expect the public to praise all her work-related success and turn a blind eye to the rest of her life (as convenient as that would be).
I will agree that it is unfair of them to go through such public scrutiny - but hey that's the short end of the straw of the life you have chosen to lead. If anything, I would think that the constant media attention would be incentive to get her together - obviously not the case. Sure everyone makes mistakes, and everyone should have an opportuntity to learn from them. But just because you're a celebrity should this entitle you to 1400 chances to get it right? I don't think the same favour would be tolerated for a non-celebrity.
And she was given a chance to learn from her mistakes - a 45-day stint in Rehab that I don't think any non-celebrity could afford doing. Lots of people learn from their mistakes without the security net she had. It swings both ways.
The embarrassment of this happening to her I cannot even fathom, and bottom line it was HER choice - no paparrazzo forced her into her SUV drunk and with cocaine. Hopefully this time she can actually get it together. Someone needs to take a page from Drew Barrymore's book of life. |
wonderfully said Laura. I agree with all that you said habibi. |

| quote: | | She received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress in 1984 for her role in Irreconcilable Differences. In the wake of this sudden stardom, she endured a notoriously troubled childhood, already a regular at the famed Studio 54 when she was a little girl, smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol by the time she was 9, smoking marijuana at 10, and snorting cocaine at 13. She was in rehab at age 13 and a second time at 14. Barrymore later described this period of her life in her 1990 autobiography, Little Girl Lost. Her nightlife and constant partying became a popular subject with the media. |
It's taken from Wikipedia.
Drew was the quintessential bad girl - she even partied with her mom! She's an example of someone who figured out her life's priorities though, and has gone on to become an incredibly high-power Hollywood name, as well as a very successful businesswoman.
And Little Girl Lost is a great autobiography. |

Alcohol in her early teens, a bit of drugs, recovered, now A-list. |
