My earliest EDM influences would have to go to bands like Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy, and other industrial type bands. When I started hitting the club scene in '90 /'91, the big tracks that brought me in were:
Dee-lite- Groove Is In The Heart Technotronic- Pump Up The Jam Crystal Waters- Gypsy Woman KLF- What Time Is Love?
3am Eternal
Last Train To Trancentral
Justified And Ancient C&C Music Factory- Gonna Make You Sweat
Things That Make You Go Hmmm CeCe Peniston- Finally
OLD SKOOL!

Holy cow. I used to breakdance to Tour de France!
JMJ did some amazing New Age... I liked Vangelis in that category of music back then.

The soundtrack to Blade Runner is still one of my all-time favourite OSTs. Rachel's Song always makes me melt.
