i would think because he would want it to be timeless, and not a mix with tracks that every jock along with my grandma will be playing by the following week.

heheh yeah i bought two tracks from Fabric 34 to spin...
Mr Game+Watch
Hmmm.. Villalobos is one of the very few minimal producers that I actually find interesting, so this may be worth a gander. I'll try before I buy, though, instead of going at it blindly.

Only his tracks is a bit meh imo. He could have made something original and personnal with "normal" tracks. Balance 005 is timeless imo for instance.

I dont really understand what you mean here.

balance 005 = James Holden, which was the best Balance to date

James Holden is a god amongst men

What don't you understand about what he said? He said that Ricardo, instead of just producing all the tracks he wants to mix himself, should have edited existing tracks and made them sound better like Holden did on Balance 005 as, in his opinion, that is what made Balance 005 as great as it is, the fact that you can find and play almost all the tracks on there, but the way James edited them, you really won't get the same feel as you would just listening to them on that compilation.

It seemed like a pretty clear statement to me.

He is good as a dj, but his productions are maybe the dullest "clip clap bleep blop" minimal you can find on the planet
