this one was digitally mixed on the comp.
yes Digital Forward is easily one of my all time favourite tunes. yeah the original BPM is 145. I think John slowed it down to 135 or something.

i listened to this set at work the other day.

mixing was great and the tunes were nice too. i kinda felt that the set didn't really pick up at any point though. i was expecting it to pick up all the time, but it never really did. it kinda felt a bit bland, kinda didn't progress anywhere IMO.
also some tunes had some annoying vocal samples (dunno if they were there originally or not) which kinda made me go: :wtf:
one tune stood out well though, dunno which one it is, but it had a brilliant piano in it.
it was a nice listen though, but i would have liked it to progress differently i guess. :)

Best mix of trance tunes I've heard in a couple years - thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the mix :)

Ok my review

I listened to the mix 3 times because it really grew on me, but listening to a mix multiple times, you notice different things every second. First, the flow makes perfect sense. At no point does it seem to be a random transition, nor does it seem to be too energetic or too chilled. I like the 'old school' sound in the set, something you don't always here... sometimes felt like I was listening to the old Forbidden Paradise series. Some people might not like that sound, especially the people that haven't heard a trance track pre 2004... but for people that have, it's nostalgic. The best part of the set for me was from the 4th to 7th track. The progressive sound really sets the mood for whatever is coming up. Would be great and easy to dance to in the clubs but at the same time, has great production quality for someone who wasn't in the club to really enjoy.

My personal suggestions for you would be this. I didn't feel at any time that you had train wrecked or killed the mood with sudden energy changes as I mentioned above, but I think in the future you could spend more time in longer (45 sec+) transitions especially with the proggier tracks. I know you're a big J00F fan and with his new format on GTG, in the proggier part of the show, his transitions for those tracks are the perfect analogy to prove what I mean. Another thing as someone mentioned, I think there could have been a bit more epic sound in the set. There are plenty of tracks that could fit that style like say, old Chakra or even current Wizzy Noise or Nicholas Bennison. Anyhow, this is just my 2 cents.

Good work man, 8/10.
