Tiesto looks like a muppet on strings at the beginning of the video, lol

Love what he's doing right now, totally blowing up.
But I mean, the threads are kind of getting out of hand. , I remember getting ripped when I first got 'excited' when I first started getting gigs, when simply posting live sets within roll calls. Now the same people are praising Deadmau5 for going as far as posting a 'shameless' thread on a more than weekly basis. Where do you draw the line as to who is able to promote themselves this way, and who isn't?
I don't speak for everyone, but I think it's safe to say we all appreciate what your doing right now - you're recognized as one of the hottest upcoming producers not only in Toronto, but globally. I don't think we need reminders of each and every event that is happening in your career.
With that being said, keep on rocking it bro - two in the top 10 on Beatport right now... I don't think I have seen that ever done before, with the exception of Pryda.
Hopefully no offense taken from my post.

You can just say "Jon", you don't have to speak in code when talking about me.
I haven't been on TA in two weeks, I didn't realize he was so "shameless".

Jeff, when Tiesto plays your track (which is inevitable, let's be honest) you can cross-post it on every msgboard and I swear to god I won't post .

see I didn't even know that, glad you posted it. How the else am I supposed to find out about buddy's career? Personaly, I love the insight and I'm glad he is taking the time to share it with us. like pics of his studio, inside stories about club nights/ promoters, which dj's are hammering his tracks, I love it all honestly. Thanks again.
In looking at the TOTA main forum, it's true, Deadmau5's threads are definitely cluttering up the board. I mean, what the would I do without the "TOTA PET REMEMBRANCE Thread" or the "Internal vs. External Hard Drive Thread" lol

LOL - I didn't want to get in a scrap with you this time. So I thought leaving out the name (or speaking in code) would prevent that. I've been feeling ultra friendly lately, non confrontational you could say.

In one of the other 10 threads posted in the last two weeks. Maybe keep that 'Deadmau5' thread as his personal TA outlet, and update the first post with news, links, videos, etc?

Best part is, he had 3 tunes in the top 10 on Beatport the other day ;)

StereoPrincess
yeah you know, why don't we just make a subforum too.
no but seriously, you want feedback and to promote internationally, check out the other sections of this international board.
best way to get gigs too!
record a set and upload it in the Sets forum. talk about new tunes in music discussion.

the recent TOTA "DJ" Self-Promo / Lingo/ Attitude problem
Ok I’m sorry everyone, and if I’m the only one who feels this way I’ll quickly shut up. But quite frankly I’ve had enough of this whole “DJ” lingo/ attitude, and machismo that has recently swept the board and I want to see if I’m alone.
I mean fine, I’m guilty of posting a set every once a while (usually one a year) or trying to help promote a local event by bumping it, but recently it’s slightly gotten out of hand… The constant DJ jargon of helping to sponsor one’s “gig” or advice on which “bomb” or “gem” to drop next has gone far past exasperating. The continuous roll call hi-jacking, the non-stop “review back scratching” in order to get a future “performance”, the free guestlist passes, the live-set recordings, the location endorsement, the promotional shots, the bumping of a thread with a post bereft of any meaning, the ass kissing, the flyer artwork, the unremitting “stellar” weekly club events held in non-club locations, will the pestering ever stop?
I want to stress that I’m here to support our talent (there is a plenty), however I think this has gone overboard and I think it makes us look cheap. I know this board hasn’t been about trance music for quite some time now, but when did it become a stage for shameless self promotion.

Your stance on the subject has changed, somewhat?
