Some one please give me some track examples of this.Lately i've heard SVD ocassionally get lumped into this.Any idea what it is exactly?
(No and i'm not a genre monger.I actually get frustrated that everything has to be lumped into tiny sub divisions.I think people should just listen to stuff and enjoy what they like. But yes examples of this please) |

Honestly, that's all that's required for someone to use (and abuse) the label. Some tweaky electronic squeaks also help. |

Electro Trance is a type of electronic music. It blends uplifting trance with some forms of electro. It originated around the early 2000s
courtesy of wikipedia. who really know what it all means these days. I like to stick to the basics: trance house techno and maybe throw a progressive in once in a while |

On a personal level I don't think the genre exists. The word electro has been beaten up and tossed around like some old rag doll. The Ferry examples posted above sound like a bad attempt at trancey pop music plus all of those tracks have a 4/4 dance beat and not the traditional electro rhythm with the exception of Junk.
Now the sample posted below is electro. But first a little background on the track. It's actually a cross between italo disco and electro, but the producer did a great job of incorporating both influences beautifully.

| Electro is like a new wave of electronic dance music that just being redundant, seems like every producer right now is making electro house or trance. I don't like any of it except a few thats closely related to Funky House Music. Overall, I think uplifting trance is taking a break right now, it will pick up later in September unto 2008. |
