that only takes about 5 minutes to do.. less to take apart.
burning CDs takes more time.

The 800MKII's are absolutely fantastic. The only thing that would pull me towards the 1000s is the wav display...

But Skipper, I'm like you, I can't get over the intamacy of using vinyl. However, just the thought of dragging all that junk around constantly make me shudder (even if its just to a house party or something, the whole setup has to come)

There's my useless 2 cents...

But then you need power outlets for your lappy, a place to put the box, as well as somewhere to lay down the computer. In a booth horizontal space is at a premium.

I've been eying an M-Audio Torq unit for $225 for a few days now...
Those of you that know me know I don't play out much anymore, so it would be nice for my uber-ghetto home setup (Numark Pro-TT1s! Stanton RM-3 OH MY!)

How does Torq match up against Serato?

i have yet to see anyone have any problems with where to put things.

if you're playing in a both where there isn't room for a 2" x 6" serato box and a laptop, then it's a hole of a club and your a ty DJ that can't get real gigs :p

true true... but i think setting up + carrying around the serato gear is a bigger pain in the ass, but to each his own.

man, why can't there be a mixer where I plug in my brain into the output and just stand there and mix the tunes with my mind! no gear - no set up

well, if/when your laptop hard-drive fills up, you have to buy some more space. and usually laptops don't come with a lot of space to begin with.
