is this a joke? cause pros seem to get a 'pro' sound out of reason

No one can answer this question man. You need to work out what to use yourself. Try both.

Yah man, switching to Ableton or Pro Tools isn't going to make you sound pro. You can get perfectly good sound out of Reason. My guess is that if you are looking at Reason like it is only 3 synths, that is why you aren't getting the pro sound. I don't mean that in a deragatory way, just that there is so much more to Reason and SO many more things you can do with it than use the few synths... the Vocoder, Scream, NNXT sampler, ReDrum, scores of effects, and a thousand ways to wire it (and more stuff)... there are more than enough ways to get a pro sound out of it. BT uses ReDrum for beats... it is the user, not the program. An example on the other end of the spectrum is me... I have Ableton AND Reason and still don't get a pro sound. But it's cause I ain't pro...

EDIT: Not to say rewiring to another program doesn't offer some additional things... I just mean that more than enough people get pro sounds from Reason alone...

Completely mastered it? not until you get that "pro" quality out of it that you speak of. Reason can be as complicated as you want it to be.

Reason is good to produce. The pro sound quality happens at the mixdown which I suggest you don't do in reason.
You need something like a waves q10 plug-in as an insert on tracks to put everything in their sonic space remove the conflicting frequencies to get that ''polished produced'' sound.

Definately Ableton, forget about Pro Tools. Pro Tools might be good for alot of stuff, but EDM production isn't one of them.

By the way, you might want to consider sticking around for Reason 4. You can always rewire it with Ableton if you decide to go with it.
