Going in early September, and I get to see every DJ I've wanted to see that I havent seen in person yet over in a warm climate, with a beach at my disposal, AND 24x7 clubs... I guess thats overrated though.;)

how can IBIZA *ever* be boring though? id die *just* to be on that beach and in those waters every summer and to see the gorgeousness of that place in general. it sounds like the PERFECT getaway PLUS there are parties 24/7 :D

god i so wanted to go this yr but my work schedules not going to permit ANY sort of vacay for awhile :(

michisan and i will be there in sept celebrating our 2 yr anni (which is this month!) :D :D :D

ibiza is beautiful. it's not just for the clubs and if you think it is, you obviously missed a lot about that island and what it has to offer.

i've been to far more beautiful places than ibiza. i will admit there are some amazing shoreline vista, but besides that, there isn't much on the island that makes it beautiful. The hotels are , the towns look run down, and the island resembles an arid landscape (which i hardly find beautiful).

And don't give me that crap about ibiza not being all about clubbing, it absolutely is. Besides the clubbing there isn't anything else on the island worth spending money on. The food is horrendous and the service is even worse, the people aren't exactly friendly, and the crowds are just downright rowdy.

with all that said, it isn't a bad time, just not what was expected.

Oh yeah, and having people tell you why they are better than americans (or imply that they are better) isn't exactly a good time. it's happened 3 times already, and all i did to provoke the comments was confirm to these people that i am american after they asked. To top all that off, my cell phone was pick pocketed by some trashy rag. when i felt it i immediately turned, but i couldn't figure out who the it was.

first thing is, you need to settle down. and like i said before, you definitely missed a lot of what ibiza had to offer.

1> i never said that ibiza was THEE most beautiful place. all i said that it was beautiful (and yes, i have traveled a lot in my life too.)

2> you had some bad experiences there and i'm sorry to hear but it really sounds like it's skewing your opinion, which is understandable. for one, i've had amazing food in several different cities and small towns there (my mom is from italy, so i know what good food is, she cooks night and day). locals were really friendly to us, (the brits were the nasty ones there.) the key is renting a car and actually exploring other places than san antonio and ibiza town.

3> san antonio is basically completely trashed, ibiza town and lots of other cities in ibiza are beautiful.

4> ibiza has a load of history, dating back literally thousands of years ago.. similar to sicily, it was invaded by a lot of different tribes and was even involved in the crusades.. just as a short example of things you can find out (but hey, i'm a geek for that stuff so obviously if you're not into it, you wouldn't dig that aspect of it.) you can even see places that were invaded, escape routes, where battles took place, etc. the fact that it's like sicily is why it's also appealing to me, i feel like i'm home when i'm driving around the countryside there or lying on huge boulder on a beach with no one but my boyfriend and me as far as the eye can see.

5> santa eulalia, porto lineaux, san josep are full of families-- i was on the plane with two 80 yr old italians and their little poodle on the way there 2 years ago. i think it's safe to say that you wouldn't see then in dc10 on monday afternoon. ibiza is more than just clubbing; however, unfortunately, that's all people know it for.

When I was in Ibiza last summer, with my fiance, everyone we met was super cool to us. It was all "you guys are americans, cool we don't see alot of americans over here."

Maybe you just came off like a pompous dick-face, kind of like you are in this thread.
