You just made me spit my root beer all over the desk! Nice job :P
My argument was very simple. She plays guitar, and likes playing electric guitar, so, yeah :P Although, she was surprised that "professionals get paid to produce fake music" |

| I really don't care, usually. I'll let them know that I disagree with them and if they're interested in hearing why, then I'll tell them. If they don't care, then I won't bother. |

| Rock music has as much to do with guitar as electronic music has to do with synth/piano. Any idiot can make ty filler music which fills up both genres that can be called fake and untalented. It's as easy to make a ty electronic song as it is to make a ty rock song with guitar. |

You're missing the other side of the argument. What they're saying is that there is no genuine instrumentation involved. Yes, we as electronic music fans understand what goes into a good electronic tune. However, most electronic songs don't actually have a person being recorded playing an instrument. That is what they are referring to.
A lot of people believe that it's not music unless you're actually playing it. Being someone who can play five instruments, I can certainly understand their side of the argument. Being a DJ, I can also understand our side of the argument. I just don't see a point in getting into a "brawl" with them, because as long as I like what I listen to then I don't really care what someone else thinks. |

| So, all those soundtracks they hear on tv and movies are fake? Because helluva a lot of them are composed using computers nowadays. |

Very true as well. I have plenty of friends who can't respect the music because it's just "people pushing buttons" and not actually performing the songs live. But IMO that's when you truly appreciate the end product and just the music itself. I just get tired of baseless arguments with people never giving the music a try. |
