Which one of those is the good one?
DJ Indus Creed
There are quite a few good EDM tracks/mixes with male vocals.

Paul Van Dyke - The Other Side
Coldplay - Talk (Junkie XL Mix)

Just to name a couple.

I don't want to rip on you too bad because I love Michael Scott and the Office but I think you are severly misguided on some of these songs.

Nic Chagall - What You Need

If I had to make a top ten worst tracks list of the year, these four would be on it. Those rock remixes are nice, I got nothing against the Killers and Snow Patrol and Breaking Benjamin mixes, a little cheesey I guess but that's fine. But tracks like The Anthem and What You Need just make me squirm. The vocals are so over the top cheesey it's unlistenable. Frozen is especially shameful because Simon Patterson is a pretty solid trance producer usually.

This is coming from someone who generally enjoys Kyau and Albert by the way, so it's not like I hate it just because it's male vocal trance.

its not about taste, its about crappy lyrics and vocals, ty arrangement and melody... pretty much everything about Anthem is ultracrap

no its totally about taste with u, u clearly dont like the song at all. alot of ppl like this song and alot of u dont...u think all ppl who have been listening to trance for a few years or more hate it and only the newbs like it? well then ur clearly wrong and a dummy for thinking that....their is nothing wrong with the production of the song, i like it.

its about personal taste, not talent or production.

just because artists have made trance before, doesnt make every track of theirs 'trance'. I agree with what Mr.Mystery says, every single track on that is extended rock/pop. I have nothing against vocals in tracks, but if this is the way they are going to be used and paraded as trance, then it's pretty friggin depressing

none of those songs are rock/pop. most are trance whether u wanna admit that or not......u obviously have a narrow vision as to what trance is so theirfore most stuff doesnt get thrown in. their are a few remixes there from rock songs, and they may not be pure trance. but that doesnt make them a bad song at all.

You can be of the opinion that any of those songs is good. I won't try and force my opinion on you.

But if you think that the anthem, and what you need and read my mind etc aren't pop rock songs at best, and want to include them in your 'broad' definition of trance, then so be it. You might like them, but seriously, classifying them as trance is just sad.

No, it's not because I don't like it - I don't like it because it's . It represents everything that's wrong with trance today. In fact, I'd be hesitant to call it trance at all. It's an extended pop track with a 4/4 beat.

Because you never heard a really well made male trance vocal track, I suppose you missed the thread a while ago about this great prodution:

Amoeba Assassin - Piledriver

A&B's Alone Tonight is one of if not the best male vocal trance track I've heard to date it was done very neatly and overall it fit well together. Unfortunately that isn't saying much. How you can consider those tracks good...is beyond me.

At this point, the only male vocal trance track I've been able to enjoy thoroughly is Underworld - Dark and Long (Dark Train Mix). All the other stuff simply isn't trance, or is .
