Return?

Was there ever once a surplus excess of male-dominated vocal trance?

Trance have made it just fine without vocals. So no need for any more shameless crap vocal tunes.

Dogzilla - Frozen, I feel its one of the better male-trance vocals!!

completely agreed although I don't think vocals are not all bad if executed well, they can add a nice touch to a song. too bad its rare to find a good vocal track.

It noticed me that in 2007 al lot of (good!) male vocal songs come by, relatively more than other years.

To mention a couple:

Aly & Filo - The Anthem
Tiesto - Break my fall/In the dark
Snow patrol - Open your eyes (Allende remix)
rogue wave - eyes (allende intro mix)
Dogzilla - Frozen
The Killers - Read my mind (G&D remix)
Nic Chagall - What You Need
Meck ft Deno Lenny - Feels like home
FKN feat. Jahala - Why (Aly and Fila remix)
Carl B ft Breaking Benjamin - The diary of Jane

And I must say, they aren't any worse than female-vocal trance.

Are there others this year, and what causes this phenomenon?

Try these:

Ronski Speed with Stoneface & Terminal - Soulseeker
4mal & Matthew Adams feat. Corey Andrews - Computer Parts
Super8 & Tab - Needs To Feel

They are way better

Exactly! Therefore I'd like to see a return of, mhm, ethnic-styled vocals? I don't how to call it but I'm thinking about similar to those used in:
Jam & Spoon - Odyssey to Anyonna
Mystica - Bliss
DJ Cinos
I agree with Break My Fall but that's just because BT is a brilliant vocalist who can't perform badly.

none of those songs are rock/pop. most are trance whether u wanna admit that or not......u obviously have a narrow vision as to what trance is so theirfore most stuff doesnt get thrown in. their are a few remixes there from rock songs, and they may not be pure trance. but that doesnt make them a bad song at all.

The line between trance and rock can get really blurry.

Tiesto - UR is realy nice :)

I have made any claim in this thread? So how can you not agree with me since I have not written anything?! For me someone that likes the tracks listed early in this thread, has not heard the track that I used as an exemple. An assumption yes, but I don't think I am far from the truth, at least with the majority of those that likes tracks like The Anthem, could be that is not your case.
