Mr Kre8
Full track written and mixed in a marathon inspired session from 1am til 7am this morning. All mixed on closed back headphones so apologies if the mixing is a little wild.

Let me know what you think, it's a full track in 128kbps quality

Myspace/MrKre8

(Will autoplay)

Cheers

Hi mate,

Just had a listen then.

Really love the intro, the percussive elements, the electro stabs etc.

Really love the build-ups. Really catchy tune with a great synth line. Sounding really professional. Sorry I cant be of more help other than that, I'm a bit thin on knowlegde regarding eq and mastering.

Definatly one of the best tunes that i have heard on this forum so far.

Well done mate.

listening...

intro has a nice techy-house kick... a proper amount of shuffle makes a lot of difference

like it when the beat kicks in...really good vibes

reminds me a lot of svd - riff for some reason, that bouncy beat and bass

those fx before the synth a bit too loud maybe?

nice nice sounds here, really groovy

not trance, but i really would like to hear the full version of this one

cheers

Mr Rogers
the horrible mixdown is rather a waste for such a track haha...
gotta great vibe go'n on with some nice percussion. get it cleaned up!
Mr Kre8
Unfortunately I have a couple of limitations when it comes to mixdowns. All I have with regards to monitoring is a pair of ancient Aiwa home stereo speakers. Sometimes one side doesn't even work :/ Also I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 212 Pro headphones, and that's it.

I know I'm limiting my productions by mixing in this way but I can't go out and buy a pair due to the fact I'm skint.

Also, ideally I would like to mix & master my stuff in Logic (Pro) with an array of tasty plug ins but this is again rather expensive. Meaning I will have to stick with my copy of Reason 3.0 and carry on using blunt tools for a rather precise job.

Is the mixing really that horrible? Which frequencies have I overlooked? Is it the EQ'ing that needs re-doing or is it the make-shift multiband compressor not doing its work / working overtime?

Thanks for the comments guys
Mr Kre8
No one fancy giving me any mixing tips? Or is it beyond repair?

Also... bump.

I'm an obvious fan of your stuff. Possibly slightly biased ;)
But I'm lovin' it. It's already been played in Vancouver. I think the mixdown could be slightly better, but nowhere near as much as Mr. Rogers makes it out to be. I definitely wouldn't describe it as 'horrible'. Then again, I'm not a great fan of Reason's summing abilities.

The saw lead stabs (with your automated release and fast attack) could maybe be a bit too harsh on larger club systems.

I'd be quite happy to do some further final mixing for you mate once my gear is up and running.

Great Electro tune, I think if you got this signed it would be hot hot hot on beatport especially.

My only criticism is the lack of melody, maybe adding some ed up and stupid arpeg'd and effected something or other at certain parts would do it, but then again, the tune sounds complete without it.

Can't say I know which bit you're talking about, is it on a particular beat or..?

And that would be cool, as I mentioned my mastering tools are somewhat limited. Cheers very much man :D

Thanks Alex, I would agree with you on that. I would have liked to record a vocal and heavily treat it with automated delay, panning & reverb, cut it up, reverse it, throw it at the wall, etc. I'll see what I can do with the mixing and I might have a mess about with some kind of arpeggage.

Cheers for the feedback people :)

every sound is really clear from the start!

building up a nice groove :) I used to do that a lot in my old tracks..

nice kick/bass combo!

this would wreck the floor man,

ouch, im not a big fan of those open hats. they mess around this "dark feeling"

ahh high breathy plucks, I see where this is going ;)

keep it up!
