| So, I need to buy a new MP3 player since my ipod was stolen this summer. My sister just picked up a Sansa mp3 player and the sound quality on it is much better than my ipod, but its not quite what I'm looking for since they don't make them over 8gb. I've been using shure headphones and on the ipod the highs sound so terrible that i have to use treble reducer just to stand listening to the music. So basically I'm looking for a player with high sound quality and can store over 20gb of music, and if it doesn't die within 2 weeks that's cool as well. Any suggestions anyone? |

Cowon (iAUDIO) A2, X5, or M5. Great sound quality with lots of EQ/tuning options, at least 20GB on these players.

Is this the one you use? I remember you started a thread a while back raving about an mp3 you have... got a link to that? |

no its not but a couple of people I know have them and I have heard them - they sound as good as what I use. I have Meizu 4GB, which only goes up to 8GB. |

I'll check those out too. Do you remember which thread you started a while ago? It seemed like there was some good discussion in there.
Hopefully I can find someone with more first hand experience with these COWON players.. |

You won't be disappointed with Cowon. Also consider the Cowon D2, which is 4GB but has an expansion slot that takes SDHC cards. I believe it will handle the 32GB cards coming soon. Surely handle the 16's.
can't find that thread atm.... all I came up with was this:

in related news, that ipod has since ceased functioning (HD crashed). it lasted, about a year. what a piece of . |

Dan & i both have the X5. its a really sweet player - has line-in recording, fm tuner, video, and rediculous battery life.
in other news i just got a $95 bill to fix mine cuz the joystick stopped working. :( |

| I'm really liking Cowon's iAudio 7. It's flash based, doesn't have the joystick, claimed to have up to 60 hour battery life, and they have a 16gb version coming out soon. Just depends on how soon... |
