this years line up seems a bit weak.

the lineup used to be wicked back then. the lineup looks pretty good, but it looks like a lineup locals would recognize. not many big superstar names to splash the page as in the past. i guess the signs that big name superstars were showing when that one year digweed and pvd cancelled on the day of the festival.
that and i can't count how many times there were some awesome stuff that got put together at the state palace theater. because of restrictions and laws, the fun started to dwindle a bit. |

we had a nice thunderstorm roll thru here - it actually cooled things off, because it didn't rain in my neighborhood, but we got the cool outflow from further north. was able to mow my lawn and everything. worked out pretty nice!
ps, when Dean was first named a Tropical Storm, i preidicted that it was going to hit Lake Charles, LA on Aug 24th. for awhile it looked like i was going to be way off....but all the models keep shifting it towards there now... |

I just got off of an 8 hour shift, in which i was watching and issuing warnings for TROPICAL DEPRESSION ERIN. granted, we cover the south and southeast part of the CONUS, but this storm was in OKLAHOMA CITY, OK!!!!!!!!
i don't understand what the hell happened, but this storm rejuvinated and strengthed overnight to the point where it developed an eyewall again. one site reported 80 mph winds...and then the sensor broke. mass flooding all over oklahoma was reported, to the point of water rescues being conducted by the national guard. flash flooding of over 9" of rain in some places.
freakin nuts!!!!

ps, zewad, see what you miss by going to florida? lolololol |

no one ever thought Dean was going to hit Florida. the bermuda ridge was too strong. anyone could have told you that. |
