Do you remember the very first trance/techno song you ever heard?

Just sittin' at work, bored and playing around on the Trance Addict forums and it made me start thinking (and dreaming) about all the shows I've been to, all the dj's I've seen, and all of the amazing songs that I've heard over all of these years. And then I started thinking about the very first trance song that I ever heard and where I was. And then I got curious as to what other poeple's first songs were and where they were. I'll share mine real quick, and I'd love to hear yours....

The very first techno/trance song that I ever heard was:

"Someone" (Slacker and Original Vocal Mix) from Oakenfold's Tranceport

It was 1999 and I had just moved into the freshman dorms at Colorado State University. The guys across the hall from me were playing it, I asked them who it was and they said some "Oak-something guy" and so I went to my computer and got onto Napster (remember the good ol' Napster days) and started downloading any and every Oakenfold song that I could find and the rest is history. I still have that first CD that I made and the guys that were playing it are still two of my best friends.

ATB - Don't Stop!!!!!!!

I got into the scene kinda late compared to some people on here. :p

Dune - Hardcore Vibes

I think this is the first time I knowingly appreciated "techno"... around 1995, when I was 14. I think that's about the age where kids discover their own tastes and not just follow their peers.

I had liked eurodance/freestyle/techno/dance/rave kind of music before but this may have been the song that really got me into it. Up to then, I was just listening to whatever.

going to go with around the world :p although i liked freestyle since elementary. I remember cutting tracks off HOT 97.7 Even had a tape once during math class in my high school sophomore year and recall a few girls going nuts hearing it from my headphones and wanting it. A friend introduced me to PvD and others soon after :)

I don't remember exactly which one, but it was along the lines of...

C + C Music Factory - Gonna Make You Sweat
Crystal Waters - Gypsy Woman
Rozalla - Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)
KLF - 3AM Eternal
LA Style - James Brown Is Dead

calling your name - anomaly (trance)

Probably DJ Sammy - Heaven. I loved the cheesy trance back then. I still do like it, I just don't like to let people know that I like it :clown:

that's two people for Around the World by Daft Punk. i guess technically that would one of my first songs too, but at the time it was just a song that i danced to when i went to the 18+ clubs when i was in high school, it didn't neccesarily get me into the scene. at the time i didn't realize, or appreciate, what i was hearing. it wasn't until a couple years later when i heard "Someone" off of Oakenfold's Tranceport that i basically became obsessed with trance music.

i remember the really old songs like "be my lover" etc, but i think the first song i heard that got me into trance like i am now is ATB "Let You Go"
