It's definitely unfortunate that the truth is under attack but I think that it's even more unfortunate that there are so many people who are so willing and so eager to blindly attack it.
That hit piece was just damage control brought to you by the History Channel's corporate owners at Hearst, Disney, NBC and Sky News. "authorities" -what authorities do you speak of? i have faith in people. i know, that thought is just too crazy! i have faith in people who present information, when the people presenting are those that investigate or study something as a profession.
this might be my upper middle class "elitism" that shaolin alluded to in the other thread. so be it. as someone that has spent a period of their life engaged with experts in their chosen field(s), i respect bodies of people that maintain a believable thesis.
as a member of a state government, i appreciate that there are those around me that are truly experts in their field of choice. i am not arrogant enough to doubt the veracity of someone's qualifications or expertise simply because of who their employer happens to be.
i have done my "due diligence" on the particular things that i find interesting and/or leave little room for "selective" analysis. |
