So you're saying that they offer each other opium the same way we might offer a visitor alcohol? Both of which I find to be equally damaging to a society.
Not to a 5 year old kid though, lol... seems sensationalist, youtube garbage.

I am Iranian. My family and ALL Iranian families that I know are so anti-drug that they would make the Evangelicals look like the ing Osbournes.
Don't generalize like that.

thats bad but it happens...I mean I'm in India and generally people don't smoke it here they eat it...but a lot of people come into the hospital due to opium stomach cancer...out in the agricultural areas people of low socioeconomic classes commonly do it..either that or ganja/bhung.

maybe hes not a kid at all...but a midget!
btw alcohol is banned in iran for all ages..so this might be why,

It is wrong because the kid is not aware of the dangers of smoking the drug. He can smoke opium as much as he wants and kill himself when he grows up. That would be his own choice.

I fail to see how it would be unacceptable for the kid to smoke a pain reliever for medical reasons; if that's the only ghetto ass way they know to administer the drug, then who the are we to act high and mighty because we do it with enclosed needle systems in "fancy" hospitals?
Give me a break.

Buy the kid a ing nintendo for s sake.
I can understand what the elder is saying in the video and it DEFINATELY isn't in the context of him administering it medically. Unfortunately this happens, but to narrow it down to being 'socially acceptable' in Iran is just false. Straight up.

Perhaps sometimes products even stronger than "heroin".
Like fentanyl:
"* Alfentanil (trade name Alfenta), an ultra-short acting (5–10 minutes) analgesic,
* Sufentanil (trade name Sufenta), a potent analgesic (5 to 10 times more potent than fentanyl) for use in heart surgery.
* Remifentanil (trade name Ultiva), currently the shortest acting opioid, has the benefit of rapid offset, even after prolonged infusions.
* Carfentanil (trade name Wildnil) is an analogue of fentanyl with an analgesic potency 10,000 times that of morphine and is used in veterinary practice to immobilize certain large animals."
[Doses of fentanyl and its analogues are measured in micrograms; heroin is dosed by milligrams.]
