"If I were still playing that heavy tribal percussive sound, I wouldn't be DJing now. I'd be bored less." Steve Lawler.

Although I dont particularly like the music he spins, Lawler smells trends and knew right away when it was time to leave tribal.

Tribal is good for about 5 minutes.

This is more than likely the reason I've been bored to tears by just about every Lawler set I've ever heard, including live. He's a solid jock of all trades (or genres), but seemingly more often than not, a master of none.

He's a very competent DJ who at times has been brilliant, but just hasn't had any kind of staying power with me over time.

Of course you would.

And lol, thank god lawler isn't playing any tribal, since nobody is making good tribal anymore.

To be fair, there was never any "good" or "bad" tribal - it was all just mediocre and interesting for a minute while you were fooled into thinking it was cool.

Chus & Ceballos really hit the jackpot on that one for a minute there. :p

You must have been looking in all the wrong places. There was plenty of good tribal from 3-4 years back, just like there's plenty of good electro-house from a year or two back...if you know where to look.
