its all about logging in remotely with ssh.

Yes I have heard of it (but on a PC my ssh client of choice is puttySSH). But I also like that fact that i can use the terminal on my own machine and not just for ssh.
Skipper
MK, I just bought one for school.
There are pros and cons. Some of which you can anticipate, some you can't. What do you need it for?

As a new mac user in the last 6 weeks, I can probably answer a lot of your questions about the struggles of switching...

I know nothing about any IT or technical stuff haha...but I use PuttySSH too :D
whatever that is :P

PS. I just recently switched over to my Mac (In October) and love it! I still can do everythign I was able to before, with no hassles. If you are just going to use it for standard computing (ie. Documents/Music/Video/Downloading/Browsing etc.) then there is no problem at all.

There is lots of good software out there for the Mac!

Pros of a Mac book:

  • Some people will think you are cool because you have a Mac
  • You will feel more "hip" with a Mac
  • All the cute gay guys will swoon over your Mac's design and OS
  • You will instantly befriend any Apple fanboy as soon as they see that you have a Mac
  • The sky will seem bluer, and the grass greener, when you have a Mac
  • Your Macbook will have 3.14 billion different configurations including: upside down, closed, slightly open, turned off, and plugged in.
  • You will be convinced you will have the most powerful notebook (until Apple comes out with the next version with a bigger hard drive) ever conceived by man OR alien.

That's all I can think of for now.
