I graduated and got a job and still love the trance I dont get how getting a proper job gets in the way of your weekends.

well when you're working full time all week i can see how you might want to do something more relaxing at the weekend :)

i know i for one went to a lot more events when i was a student working part time.

I'm fed up of hearing the 'dance music is dead' argument from former UK trancesters. It's simply not true. Yes, the trance clubs are nothing compared to what they were, but a different clubs and different genres have taken their places, though admittedly not on the same scale.

One only has to glance at the international impressive lineups for the likes of Fabric (London), The Warehouse Project (Manchester), Circus / Chibuku (Liverpool), Urban Gorilla (Sheffield), Technique (Leeds) to see that dance music in the UK is definitely NOT dead.

I agree with that, i hope it didn't come across that i was 'slagging it off' - i guess the statement that its not mainstream anymore or at least known to more people is my main angst.

I still go out to most of local events (Off the Rails/Planet Zogg - in sheff - have been to UG a few times), and i will still go - its just a pity for me its a major effort - i would like to go with my mates - but the majority have no idea what im listening to or want to go to nights - i think its the fact that it finishes late thats puts them off - and when im there i dont tend to leave pre-5am, so they are screwed lol.

Before (when younger) you got to hear some quality tracks albiet a few only in any random club (well that was in Coventry) - which made your night, now after what 5-6years of being a student, going to those student nights where basically i have to get 'laced' or go in fancy dress and look like a fool (still have great nights mind - just not for music-wise) so i dont hear the goddamn claymores (that 500miles song arghh) or SClub (reach? for a gun maybe lol) for the umpteenth time - just wish it was slightly more mainstream thats all...its a forlorn wish probably - but thats what i would like!

Just got to accept the fact its not gonna happen anytime soon! Damn it.

I simply don't have the time to devote to TA that I once did. I always still try to post and look after the production section but unfortunately uni/production/work/life has to come first

I have met some great people through this forum... Gibbo, Acton, Mike, Coup, Chris, Mikey, Ste, and many more

I'd never say no to a pint with a TA. The scene is just as strong as it ever was, just there seems to be more of a localised UK scene rather than a centralised share of ideas like the TA community, which mostly I put down to the furthering of technology, sets being widely available and tunes being available to all such as digital download being a prominent figure in the scene. I personally haven't bought a record for about 2 years...

The Arbiter
Oh noes! Now you've done it.

*Record companies have called a Crusade against TrancePharoah!"
