I think I speak for Mr. Ross when I say that it is time for you to do a search. Also there are two stickied threads atop the list of threads, such as 'music production FAQ'. Read these. Now.

There are literally HUNDREDS of threads with this same question... One just today.

Don't get a keyboard yet. Don't get a soundcard yet. Go download demos (read demos, not warez) of some sequencing programs and decide which YOU like best. Look for Reason, Ableton Live, Cubase, FL Studio... the list goes on... sorta.

If you want me to check another forum, post a link and quit being cocky. I'm just trying to learn.

I'm just being sarcastic. Don't worry, I've done numerous searches. It could be a lot of money and I want everyone's opinion. I thought some fools would want to have a say in how I get started. If you love something, you must have biases about how others should get started. I've already done searches and everyone has their own idea. Some say, get an M-audio sound card and small keyboard others say get a 61 weighted key board and FL, others say, just get reason and once mastered, learn cubase. It's all helped me, but it's all random. I guess the test is to just get started, right? If you have something you want to say, spout it, but don't tell me to do a search, cuz I know how to do that. Live and love.

you have to get cubase. you simply wont understand any of the others. you must get a midi keyboard - anything under £300 wont last a week. and you must get event TR6 monitors. they will be perfect for you're room...
