Gotta say, about time Wonderland got a new REAL coaster that was not some pint sized movie-tie-in piece of crap.
Their last major coaster was what, Top Gun? theres been The Fly, Italian Job and hrmm, Tomb Raider since then - but they are all pretty sad excuses for a coaster. Everything else has been 'carny' type rides (Psycklone, etc) - which are amusing and all, but are in no ways a replacement for a good coaster.

My boyfriend and I just took our daughter to Disney World in May for her birthday, so when we went to Wonderland a couple of weekends ago, I think we had our expectations way too high. We were quite disappointed. But it's nice to see that they are getting a new coaster. I am a roller coater nut!! :eyes: :eyes:
While we were in Orlando, we took a shuttle from our hotel in Disney World to Universal Studios. The Hulk and Dueling Dragons...CRAZY; especially The Hulk. By far the best roller coaster I have ever been on.

I swear this is exactly the same thing as the GOLIATH we have at La Ronde! But the behemoth will be 20 meters higher thus 15kmh faster.
For those saying its nothing because it has no loops, let me tell you that I was genuinely terrified for a good 2 seconds! I took it at night and when it dropped, you could not see the bottom!! A complete freefall, and not much to hold you other than those lap barriers.
And those "smaller" ups and downs are pretty awesome because they twist and turn sharpely which add alot to the experience!!!

I noticed that too actually.. the design spec used by Bolliger & Mabillard is the same template. There are about 3 'Goliath coasters' in operation which B&M have manufactured, all of them at Six Flags parks, which I believe had the same ride commissioned when they purchased La Ronde in Montreal. The other 2 are in Six Flags Over Georgia and Six Flags Great Adventure, New Jersey (renamed 'Nitro'). The only modification done to the one being built at Wonderland is the height of the first drop as you said as well as use of those new prototype staggered seats - and of course the name 'Behemoth'.
I'm glad that CedarFair bought Wonderland. Paramount seems to commission the tiest rides, nor did they ever seem to really invest in any large scale projects, usually limiting themselves to smaller scale 'mini-coasters' as mentioned by kaniz. Six Flags and CedarFair really know how to do it up propper and always seem to be trying to one up each other.
