| As I shed a tear for the end of the ancelotti/milan era, i salute one of the best footballing sides in the world right now in arsenal. Their manager is a clown, but they played excellently at the hardest away ground in europe, and to think how young there side still is, it's quite frightening how good they could become. |

| Ugh, inability to put the game away and three very poor penalties let Fener get back into this and cost Sevilla tonight. Barca's goal was a thing of beauty, I don't even know where to start. Man United, industrious as always. And hats off to Arsenal to do what they did in Milan is unbelievable, especially with AC's record in the competition in the past few years. Eyes on Liverpool and Real tomorrow, as Chelsea should be fine, and I couldn't care less between Porto and Schalke. |

The odd thing about Arsenal is that they don't even have a "wow" player, sure Fabregas is the playmaker and Adebayor the usual goalscorer, but their strength is clearly in the way all the players fit together, it's about the team.
Fabregas' goal was awesome.
Fenerbahçe confirms that they are the surprise of this years competition, first time a turkish team reaches the quarter-finals. The goalkeeper ed up big time during the game then went on to defend three of the penalty kicks. :wtf: |

Isn't that just typical of the way football is. I had a feeling he would end up the hero after some bizarre goalkeeping early in the match. |

man a few treadmills here and there in Italy wouldnt do them any harm ... maybe my memory fails me but i cant recall any italian in recent memory who would be considered fast ... arsenal proved it today by running AC Milan ragged .. walcott looked like he could outpace maldini on one leg
i doubt inter will be able to overcome a 2 goal deficit tomorrow against the pool... i really hope im jinxing myself but i can totally see Inter coming out and playing like its them who are defending the lead so it looks like there will be 4 english teams in the quarter finals and michel platini will have new reason to bitch on thursday about how action needs to be taken to curb the insane amount of cash in english football :rolleyes: |
