Austin Powers 1
both did horrible in the box office but have become huge hits once they hit the rentals..
Austin Powers 1 did so well in the rentlas that they made teh sequal and the sequal was ginormous in teh theathers... |

Actually it didnt come out at all near the Matrix. The original Matrix hit theaters in March 99, and Reloaded hit in May 03. Equilibrium went wide in Dec. 02, and due to lack of advertising, wasnt really known amongst the general public. But, it did become a cult fav. once it hit rental stores. |

| City of God. What a masterpiece, I haven't seen a better movie to this day. They should've promoted it more, the theater and DVD release had almost zero media exposure. |
