| I love trance...but i live in the NY suburbs where all my friends don't listen to it...so at times it is hard to blast while driving in the car with them. |

You do know that people have said/are still saying that about trance, right? Every genre has their time in the sun, not just in EDM, but across the spectrum, how good that genre is, in my opinion, is determined by it's longevity after it's not that popular. Trance is still going, you have to wade through seven layers of e before you find something good, but it's still happening.
Ain't nothing wrong with trance, but just like how Cascada, DJ Sammy, Angel City, etc, are embarressing to trance, house has their exponents, the Tenaglia's, Sanchez's & Axwell's of the world are still doing their thing. Don't diss the genre, it's the commercial uprising you should be bitching at.. |

nice analogy but its not completely true
ive been into trance since 1993 and havent moved on since. why didnt i move on? because i love it. i love house and other forms of edm too.
if i was exposed to epic fluffy trance all the time then i would say your analogy would hit it on the head |

I never said I thought it was entirely true. There will always be some people who are content with the lowest common denominator, or re-listening to the same old tracks. And there's nothing wrong with that either, since there's plenty of good old music to keep people like this happy. |

| although trance is my 1st love, i've learned to grow and love lots of other forms of edm. what i usually do when i play is incorporate trance later on(usually peak hour) after a decent hour or two of electro/tech/minimal/prog. you just have to learn how to adapt. but hell no, there is a load of people who love trance, you just gotta find them. and for the people who hate it, you gotta show them the good , not the cheese they think trance is all about. |

The reason why there are so many different types of music out there is because everyone has different taste in music. From Hip-hop, EDM, Country, Jazz, Reggae, etc. it all depends on what you like. I wouldn't necessarily say that people are ashamed of trance in the U.S. it's just a matter of Hip-Hop being whats most popular out here because most of the artists come from here and some of them are starting to incorporate some housy, trancy elements into their music for example Timberland, Kanye West, and others. For Trance i've seen that the majority if not all producers and DJ's are from the U.K. Netherlands, Poland, Amsterdam, etc. that being one of the main reasons why trance is so big out there. There still are some loyal trance lovers in the U.S., its just kind of hard to find them. As for the comments about everything else, trance rules and those type of comments, i say forget about that because saying things in that matter wont get you anywhere. I;ve listened to all types of music including the ones mentioned before, and can say that eventhough i've come across some great music, Trance is what i love....... :nervous: |

there's a small amount of embarrassment in admitting to liking trance because of the mountains of crap out there that passes for it. but for specific tracks i do like? none at all

also i don't know where the flying you've heard ferry play house & electro recently, but i saw him play a 6 hour set last weekend and a good 5.5 hours of it was straight up trance, with the remaining half hour or so being techtrance/LEF stuff |

| Like isoterra said I do feel embarrased when I say I like Trance and everyone around me thinks I like cheesy like cascada, this is bad, but I am PROUD to play Trance, any where, any time! |
