Whilst sitting in my back yard the other night looking at the rare blood moon I got to thinking about my early days
with electronic music. It consisted of a very healthy diet of trance. I used to eat the stuff up buying everything I
could get my hands on and waiting patiently all week until I could hear how good it sounded wasted off my face.
Well that was over 15 years ago now and a lot has changed. Peeps would instantly categorise with chill mixes
and that is cool with me because I love that stuff now. The point of this mix however is to show that hopefully I can
cut it with you younger guys on the dancier edge of the scene. I am sure to hear whether that is the case or not
soon anyway ;).

Most of these tracks have been selected over the last few months and are certainly what I believe to be peak
time fodder.

Download , drop a pinger , have a beer whatever but have some fun !!!

Cheers

Trance sets are rare if not nonexistant from you so I'm definitely picking this one up.

Although i never comented, i have enjoyed a few of your sets. I really do not like trance anymore...but since some of your stuff got some play from me with no regrets i am actually a bit curious. Not many DJ's have that kind of versatility, so I'm a little intrigued on how you will do trance. Added to the pile and I will keep an open mind:)

I think we all realise that trance is not cool fresh or innovative anymore. Its all electrohouse and minimal these days and the most talented producers are flocking to that sound in their hundreds. I also love all that stuff as well.

You get sick of anything though if you smother yourself in it so this was something different to sink my teeth into,

Cheers

ps .Well i wouldn't say i'm sick of it, but you are right about changing up things once in awhile. Not only can it give you inspiration in terms of new elements in regards to producing...it can also inspire dj wise. Never liked the electrohouse(minus a few tracks...real electro i love...anyhow these days the truly gifted dj's do not solely rely on genres and bring many diff elements to sets. I might call my mixes tech house, but it is rare that they do not a few other genres peppered in as well.), and i have been on the tech house tip for at least 4 years. Its kinda sad for me , because i get accused of bandwagon jumping at times...when really i was into it before they started building it. I have listened to quite a few of your chillout mixes to read to or get settled for bedtime. They really helped relax sometimes..this is why im gonna be adventurous and listen to this one. Yours is next in queue...i will review soon:)
Cheers right back.

Its not that trance isn't cool. I just outgrew it. I grew sick of the scene and its worshipping ways. (I will always be a producer whore before a dj whore.) The Bpm's came down and i started enjoying a more feet on the floor approach. Once in awhile however a trance track will catch my ear and be purchased for when im in that mood. Throw away the Ferry formula and bring back the complexity without structural limitations would make me love it again. Nu Trance is becoming effective at this albeit less driving. (bla bla bla...im staring at reason and am pulling my hair out...can you say boredom?):p
