Because it means (long-term) greater prosperity for Canadians.

OMFG...can you please elaborate how this benefits Canadians in the long-term? This is to primarily benefit the US corporate/capitalist machine. They could care less about our benefits.

I like certain capitalist ideals, hell my background pretty much invented the modern form of democracy but it's not perfect by any stretch. Why not improve it by looking at its shortcomings? (by taking from other political models?)

Why does it have to be one or the other? Why can't there be some combination of the best parts of capitalism with the best parts of a communist society?

Thanks for this, Mr Slings.

So far, nothing I've read seems threatening. Seems all this report suggests is make NAFTA more efficient...

I skimmed through it. Seems like a very nice sugar-coated outline.

Honestly, if people are against this NAU thing, they should also be against NAFTA.

If it happens, it will probably Mexico over pretty hard, at least in the short term, but it will be almost all good for Canada.

As far as I can tell, there's no discussion of major redistribution as there is in the EU, which would also be good news for a "NAU" because that's the main thing hurting the more industrialized EU nations.

I don't see what's wrong with less volatile currency, greater mobility rights, and a louder Canadian voice in (North) American policy/politics.

Who knows, it might even override the CRTC's overbearing protectionism and get us some cheap mobile plans.
