| If we took all of the world's wealth and redistributed it equally, within a generation (or so), would be right back where we started? :conf: |

if the money was distributed without education then yes, we'd fall right back into the same routine. governments, societies and the people within those societies must change in order for the re-distribution to be worthwhile and sustainable.
give a million dollars to a person that doesn't know how to use it wisely then sure enough they will blow the cash and return to who they were before the money. |

yes.
Many African countries have massive problems with corruption, so money will end up with a select few in those affected areas, so yes it will just return to normal. |

I've heard it's 80% of wealth concentrated in 5% of population but couldn't locate a reliable source online.
Did find this though... the richest 2% of adults in the world own more than half of global household wealth. Refer here. |

If we pattern match human behaviour into its simplest analogy then we look like this:
Two people are standing next to a fire. One guy is pouring 1.0 units of water on the fire, the other is pouring .85 units of gasoline on the fire. This is the fundamental ratio in the tug of war between Utopia and Dystopia in the human race.
Now pass me that bag of marshmallows damnit! |
