tiesto
because i know a lot of people who are not in into trance who know who he is. He even played the olympics. i'm not into american football and couldn't name at least half the teams. (the only reason i could name the other half is because of friends who always talk about it) |

lol @ tiesto....
when tiesto has a whole skit which turns into comic tv history on SNL... then MAYBE just MAYBE will he be as popular as da bears
for those who think tiesto, i think you are well off, and for those who think only americans care about nfl, are also off.
pro sports > niche dance music

| What you think and what you know are two different things, though (you being anyone in this thread). |

By shear virtue of the number of people in the world who know about the NFL vs. Tiesto, it's a landslide in favor of the Bears.
This has to be one of the dumbest threads in the history of this forum, especially given the context and demographic of this forum.
Well done. Quite the accomplishment. |

What do you base this claim on?

This, however, I can agree with. There is absolutely no way to even measure something like this. |

Nothing but my own personal experience, the fact that 100 million people watched the Super Bowl last year, and a pretty solid hunch that no one is going to come up with numbers to refute the claim that in general the NFL is far more popular than the realm of "Electronic Dance Music," or more specifically "trance" will ever be.
On the other hand, the claim that "no one outside of America cares about the NFL" is a load of rubbish that all too often comes up on this forum anytime the word "soccer" is uttered, but the claim is baseless, and until I see evidence to the contrary, I guess I'm just not going to be convinced that there's even a comparison to be made. |

Feel free to come to europe sometime and try to find someone who follows the NFL (and no, the people who only know the superbowl don't count).
