514... Xl?? Wtf??

Hi,

Not to insult sona or 514 productions (or even Happy), but why the hell do you guys keep XL, and bring him back to swirl????? what... do you guys pay him with food? I mean the guy, first off, sucks, to me anyways, he's at sona every weekend and plus, at Celebration, he killed the crowd.. many of my friends left complaining the music drowned them up, because of a 6-hour set. The only reason I stayed till the end was to see Misstress Barbara, which was supposed to be the main event, but only ended up playing for 2 hours, but that’s a whole different story altogether... I used to go to sona often, but the last 2 times were for Sasha/Digweed and Misstress Barbara. I won't be at swirl because of it. There are no big calibre (international) DJs at swirl (picotto is not worth it), not worth my time and money. Rather, I'm gonna trek it to Toronto to see Dave Seaman... On the same note, you guys could have persuaded Seaman (lets not get into the GU sucks argument again) to be the main event, he is on his world tour, and is not playing on the 20th... no offence, but 514 and sona have lost their allure big time... hopefully, Oasis will be better, although, I won't hold my breath...

My 2 cents

I've been at Cream last year, and they had great internationnal dj's:

- Dave Seaman
- Mistress Barbara (I hate that bitch)
- Timo Maas
- Pete Tong
- Anthony Pappa
- Tall Paul
- Christian Smith

Personnaly, Dave Seaman didn't impress me that much. Tall Paul was the best dj of the evening, in my opinion.

I hope for you that Seaman will be good in TO, 'cause I wouldn't pay to see him again!!!

For XL, you're right, he sucks BIG TIME, but some people do like him (I don't know how they do to like him).

Sucks that 514 barely never brings some trance dj's!! :whip:

I think you should give MB another chance, she's in my top 10 favourite DJs, maybe even top 5... go download her set, live at big wig in february or march of 2001, and her essential mix, last january, they are the best of her... It will be my first time to see Seaman, and I hope he's good, I really love his essential mix set, at lush in portrush, Ireland, in 2001... Never saw Timo Mass... would like to see him...

BTW people, don't base yourselves on authentic CDs by DJs you see in stores... download live sets, thats how you'll know what a Dj is really all about, thats what I base myself on for my top DJs... store bought CDs do not make the DJ justice, because they are compilations, and DJs don't play with base, sound, and whatever, as much as they do live... I much prefer listening to PVD, live at Rosenmontags rave (02/11/02) than his politics of dancing CD, which still is good, but not as good as he is live... am i right??????

This is my 25 cent: You hate XL but you re missing mauro picotto, tall paul (who by the way impressed me alot at Cream), Max Graham (his last 8h extended set was a blast at Sona), Lafleche (I found him ok and never understood why people adore him) and last but not least Preach was better then the guest dj the last time I was @ SONA, I realy enjoyed his hard trance and looking forward to hear him again.

My point is you re missing all these great dj just for one dj that u hate. XL is not my favorite DJ but at oasis he didn t dissapointed me at all.

But hey everyone has his fav Dj (something alot of tranceaddicts don t understand) u can adore misstress but for me she s just a bitch that don t respect Trance.

Enjoy the Toronto nightlife

Now you own me 25 cent :stongue:

Heh just to let you know.. most essential mixes are prerecorded. What's the difference between that and a cd?

anyway.. doesnt matter. I think picotto really is a world class dj. Like happy said he has won many international awards over europe recently. Really immerging as a premier dj. Max is great.. never seems to dissapoint. Never seems to have a bad set and i really havnt heard a many complaints. I think the party will be worth it. Im not not going to go because of one bad local dj.
delstar
WTF????

swirl has 3 world class djs all in top 25 in rankings....for 27 bux thats a in joke and its in the molson center...

it costs 20-25 to go to any afterhours in this city and i think i would go every week if we had parties in the molson centre with 3 world class djs for 27 bux...

XL = boring
lafleche = ok sometimes, mostly
miss b = best dj from montreal...ever
DJ Charlie
XL = He's probably fat cause his music don't gives feeling like dancing to burn some fat
:whip: dance you big ********
Laflèche = Never heard him... so I still respect the guy
;)
Misstress = Bitches should be serving drinks and dancing on stages !
:eyes:

I'm pretty rough hey ?!?! :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:
DARK MAN X
just like 737 xl sucks donkey ballz, he killed oasis, not that david morales was much better
but i would never miss that line up because of one dj, there is always 1, at least
swirl has a wicked line up, i wont be miising it
peace

Delstar, its only 27 bucks for the desperate few that woke up an early saturday and went to sona, or just bought them with whatever money was left while leaving sona. They cost, i think, 67.50... I only buy tickets when i know for sure what DJs will be playing. + I completely agree with you that Miss B is the best Montreal DJ. Also, talking about 3 in the top 25 international DJs, thats fine, but what list, I don't go by some list voted by, most probably, americans that don't know didley squat about true techno/trance (refer to BPM magazine, march issue)... DJ Charlie, yeah that was rough... all you people dissing MB, give her a chance, she really knows how to kick it. Happy, your saying this about MB because your biased (514 and the new years fiasco)...
delstar
ahh technofreak...

ur still a little TA in training...u'll be one of us one day :) hehehe

ahlamalek

its a club where you can chill and relax on the tereasse drinking something... mmmmm grand meurinier.........:stongue::stongue:

Anyone going there only for the music is a retard...

oh yeah about xl, the only stuff I heard from him was sounding like : boom boom boom for a couple of hours... gets annoying after 30 seconds:whip::whip::whip::whip:. Sona's crowd must like this stuff for him being resident that long and doing 8hrs extended sets (8 hours!!! for christ's sake!!):eyes::eyes::eyes:

oh yeah don't start the sona vs. aria war again:rolleyes:
ZinG
I go for the music!
