I was waiting for this.
No, "new" does not denote good. But when you're playing the same tracks that have been cained by everyone else, why not find something else?
I expect better out of you. |

Oh you and your assumptions. Are you directing this at me, or Jimmy? Because at this point, from that tracklist, it could easily be applicable to him. |

Has nothing to do with time, and everything to do with the music. |

| Why do people bother whining over track selections on compilations. If you feel you are over it, dont bother listening. Simple as really. |

Why do people ever say anything bad about anything? I mean, it's not like this is a review forum where you're encouraged to speak your mind about whether something is good or not in your own personal opinion. People should only write good reviews, simple as, really. |

Yes, because we all know the "See no/Hear no/Speak no evil" approach towards all aspects of life is without a doubt the path of the winner.
s sake - how can any of you think having high expectations or holding artists to standards they've established for themselves is such a bad thing?
:conf:
And as far as Harold's Beatport rants go, I've just tuned them out into white noise - they aren't going to stop, and he's not a bad guy, so meh. |

The age of the DJ whom stays ahead of the game is for the most part dead thanks to the way distribution and availabilty of music has changed in the past 3-4 years. It's only those who spend a considerable amount of their waking time who now manage to surprise consistently. |

I disagree, I simply think the age of the lazy DJ is upon us and now more than ever before we're dealing with an overwhelming homogenization of dance music.
There's more material out than ever, and therefore tons more to wade through - but the hidden gems are still there and rather than DJ's spending weekends digging through crates at their favorite shops, they need to pursue other means of procuring tracks.
This is where I'll echo some of Harold's animosity towards Beatport, because even with Digital Distribution it is still possible to find high quality tracks that are available through very limited outlets if one puts themselves to just a bit of work, yet many (often myself included) are often content to spend what they have for the week on Beatport and not choose to look further. |
