big crowds and very underwhelming art .. also lots of people looking for an excuse to dress up weird in public. A lot of the galleries housing their regular permanent collections were just open all night long. Heineken giving out free bus tokens was kinda cool though.
kinda wished i spent more time around UofT..

it was not bad actually.
there was this cool store front that was filled with water and fish that were amplified in size by a projector.
the first time i saw it i was on the street car zooming by, and i actually believed they were real giant fishes! haha
but based on the pics posted by Alex it seems like Zone-A may have been better. Unfortunately I had to stick around zone-c since I had to be at the gallery for most of the night. Next year, I'm going to find a way to not get locked into one location so i can see more stuff.
As others mentioned, it was far too crowded, even during the really late hours. I didn't even bother going into 90% of the galleries since it was so difficult to see all the pieces with everyone in the way.
And as Emery mentioned, I wish there were more high-quality site installations, instead of so many mediocre ones.
This years Nuit Blanche was definitely not as good as the last. It was over promoted this year - too many people were out abusing, mocking or destroying art works. And there were a surprising number of wasted trouble makers. The florescent dome in Trinity Bellwods Park was pretty busted by the end of the night because so many drunk people bumped into it, or tried to climb it.
We'll see what happens next year i guess...
But overall, it was a pretty good night. It's awesome to have such art festivals in Toronto. |

I wish I could have made it to that area.
Seems like there was a lot of good stuff in that Zone.
Damn it... |

Smuncky, your pics are ing incredible. I'll definitely be saving them to my computer and probably using some of those aerial toronto shots as my wallpaper :)
It looked like a hell of a time and I wish I went. I'll definitely be checking it out next year.. let's just hope it's not as crowded as everyone says it was this year. |

Yes paparazzi Alex, you take a killer photo. I will mention that Alex doesn't even have a nice camera, imagine the damage he could do if he did !!!!!!
My favourite was the toilets by Ryerson. As Orko said, I really liked the crowd, maybe we only visited the good areas?
By the way, thanks for being our tour guide Alex :D |

Nah, it was generally quite dull. The only interesting exhibit was a giant kaleidoscope... and you really had to jostle people to get in and have a 3 second peek.
The best thing I saw all night: dude in the Grange with the boombox blasting out Thriller surrounded by a throng of revellers... impromptu? Exhibit? Who knows... but it sure as hell was entertaining, unlike a lot of the rest of what I checked out. |

| Paris sure knows whats up... see, the thing with much of the exhibits at Nuit Blanche is simply that they weren't designed for massive crowds. All that stuff on the side of buildings--perfect. Everyone passing through can experience it. We need more of that around here next year. |

oh, and Ghost Station (Lower Bay) could have been a little bit more creepy too |
Yea seriously. That was such a disappointment. The exhibit that gets the biggest WTF from me is the one at U of T (on the field). Checked out the 5star hotel room in a dumpster which was pretty funny. |
