i'm not going to be an apologist for heater, but, it is my humble opinion that if you think heater is the worst track of 2007 in a pool of such fine productions as 'the anthem', then you must be either deaf or brain-dead.
i'm not saying heater is a work of staggering musical genius, surely it is much less, but having it pumped through every cell of my body on a terrace party next to a pool of sparkling water this summer, one of the few warm, lighthearted moments in a night of cold microhouse, I can't really find fault in it other than that it's overplayed. This track would have been a bomb had it been a mystery white label played only by a few DJs.
It's one thing to say a track is bad, but something much different to say it is the "worst track of 2007 so far". And especially after only listening to the beatport sample. I suggest you go out and feel the bassline on that track. |

I agree, Heater is nowhere near as bad as Anthem or the other mentioned.
Also, Tiesto - In The Dark (Dirty South Remix) may not be the worst but it is close. Atrocious. Tiesto's Love Stoned Remix is pretty ing bad too. |

| The Anthem is not that bad to me cause I can actually stand Nic Chagall's version.... I would say Megashira, In The Dark, Perspective Space and Why (Aly & Fila's Remix, I like the original though but I hate this remix) |

| Wow I've never seen this board so 50/50 on a track before. Samim - Heater definately wins the 'love it or hate it' award of the year. |

oh i've heard the whole song. my roommate owns it. worthy bassline or not, everything about that track makes me want to kill baby animals, and anyone who would actually rock out to it in a club needs to have their mental stability examined, DJs especially. The fact it's top ten makes me want to jump off a cliff. |

And what did you expect? This has 'HUGE HIT' written all over it. It's something new, stupid and highly controversial. Hell, even one of my friends who is pretty much exclusively into trance told me he heard a dj spin this and was like 'You know that accordeon song, that's a cool minimal!'
This is the point when 'minimal' definitely starts to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
EDIT: But no, I don't think that Heater is the worst tune of this year. All of that trance emo crap is much worse because it's horrendous and takes itself seriously. |

| That may be true but I don't listen to any new trance so I wouldn't know. And since when was Heater minimal? :p |

I agree. Finally Deep Inside is only 2nd in my worst tune of the year. Heater is my N° 1. |

the point where I cringed the most while listening to a track this year has to be when I first heard the track "Tiesto - Elements of Life"
cheese fest! |

| I just heard Heater as well, yep it's pretty bad. I have no idea why Get Physical management would sign such a horrible tune. Anyways I still think it's not half as bad as The Anthem, I mean, seriously. You'd have to compare stuff like Cascada to The Anthem so we could have a match. |
